I've had the pleasure of taking voice lessons with Yun and I can say that she is a very enthusiastic and patient teacher. She will help you progress and understand your vocal strengths and weaknesses to continuously improve and grow all while having an enjoyable time. I highly recommend taking lessons with her!
Energetic, very knowledgable, able to change speeds to the level of the student needs to maximize lessons. Wonderful personality. Just seems to have great passion for this.
Renee was fantastic - very responsive, quick follow ups, and easy to work with. I needed a voice lesson with short notice, and she came through with a great teacher and very easy scheduling. Couldn't be happier, thanks!
Brian is a student of mine at the Berklee College of Music. He has been taking private lessons with me for 3 years. Brian is a hard working guy that does everything I ask of him. We work on all aspects of playing. I haven't observed Brian as a teacher but I can tell you that the aspects of musicianship we work on would apply to any student. Brian is very good at taking the information I give him and applying it to his playing. He really is a great teacher for himself which is the most important criteria in being a great teacher for others.
I was petrified the first day that I headed for voice lessons with Joel. I just did not know what to expect. What if I had zero talent? What if I could not follow his guidance? etc. Experience has shown Joel to be the most accommodating (although still requesting of genuine efforts), concerned, kind, capable and PATIENT instructor of all. I now am terribly lighthearted when heading to my voice lessons, which have now become my most favorite time slots. And, I feel a strong sense of accomplishment, worthiness and even empowerment as my singing improves.
My 7 yr old grandson responds well to Mr Landers as a teacher. I would highly rec him to others.
Matt has taught my daughter the trumpet for a number of years . She has excelled in her school band an the community band thanks to his instruction NK
Jenn is a great teacher, very patient, supportive and helpful. She is really educated in her field (Berklee and New England Conservatory) and an incredibly talented musician, so she not only can help beginners learn the basics, but also work with advanced players to fine tune their craft. Jenn would be the first person I'd think of and recommend when brass lessons are needed.
Thus far, I have had 4 lessons at Music Makers with a guitar instructor. I love the location and demeanor of the instructor, the price is right, and the scheduling options are also great. I am very happy with this find!
With 12 years experience as a trombonist and my training at NEC, I consider myself like a musical doctor. I have personally encountered many problems students have and am good at recognizing and "diagnosing" issues students have. Additionally, I know how to "prescribe" the right solutions. Also, I'm a very patient person and encouraging.
I am a classically trained trumpeter based in Boston, MA. I perform as a soloist for churches as well as a trumpeter for local orchestras. I also teach trumpet privately.
Hello, my name is Kathleen Doran. I am a professional trumpet player in the Boston area. I am currently finishing my degree at Berklee College of Music. I have experience studying and playing both Classical and Jazz genres. I finished high school at Interlochen Arts Academy, and from there participated in The Tanglewood Youth Orchestra. I attended college at Oberlin Conservatory, in Ohio. I am now a scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, and also work at the school part time as a tutor for their core music curriculum. I'm very confident in my skill as a teacher as a communicator. I believe strongly in the developing the physical fundamentals of trumpet playing, so to begin with we will focus a lot on technique. Also, we will lots of listening, and work to find what your musical interests are regarding he trumpet. Discipline comes from fostering passion. We have to keep your passion alive so that you have inspiration to practice! I'd be willing and interested in teaching all students, any age, or learning style.

I am also available for tutoring in math and test preparation (SAT, GRE, etc.)

I attribute my success and passion for music to my supportive teachers and peers that created a fun and productive music-making environment. Knowing how important this has been to my development as a musician and a person, I hope to create a positive environment for my students and peers to also have a memorable and impactful musical experience no matter what place music has in their lives.

I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing trumpet, piano, guitar, and voice. I spent 4 years at Berklee College of Music learning songwriting, trumpet performance, and harmony. I am a certified orthopedic massage therapist and use my knowledge of anatomy and bodywork to inform my lessons to teach music from a more rounded perspective. Musicians need to understand how their bodies work, and the best way to do that is a basic understanding of anatomy.
