Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I breathe violin all day everyday. I search for the ultimate sound and the ultimate expression. I want my students to find their own authentic voice, and I know how to bring it out in them. Most people don't know that one of the most important skill to learn is the art of practicing. It doesn't matter if you have a great teacher, or have been playing for 10-15-20 years, if you do not know how to practice. My goal is to teach a student how to work correctly for the 167 of 168 hours every week when I don't see them! I have vast knowledge of various famous schools of violin playing - including Russian and European traditions. My mentors have been Rudolf Koelman (protege of Jascha Heifetz, one of the greatest violinists of all time) and Ilya Kaler (winner of the Tchaikovsky, Paganini, and Sibelius International Competitions) I know how to quickly analyze anyone's playing from a technical and artistic point of view, and immediately being to make improvements. I don't believe in ruling with an iron fist. My goal is to create work ethic through enthusiasm and discovery. Music is such a beautiful journey, and I want to be the most inspiring guide I can be. The greatest joy is passing on knowledge/skills and watching others flourish.

I've been a student of his for a few years now and I have really enjoyed it. As a working professional, sometimes my practicing and lessons get pushed to the side for other priorities, and Daniel is very understanding. He is flexible with what pieces we play and how long we spend on them (not to say I can do whatever I want but he takes my requests seriously and does his best to accommodate). We have fun in the lessons, he is patient when I have an off day, and he spends the time teaching me in a way that I would understand. He even goes into a bit of music theory with me so that I can understand WHY the music is written the way it is. I would recommend Daniel as a violin teacher to anyone looking to learn - particularly if you are an adult looking to work on a hobby like I am!

Daniel is a meticulous and skillful instructor- exactly the kind of teacher I was looking to find here in the Cambridge/Boston area. Since I have some years of violin experience in the past, I was looking to fine tune and improve certain techniques I felt were lacking in my playing. After the initial trial class, Daniel was able to pinpoint what techniques and skills I needed to work on. In each lesson, we work on foundational exercises, technique and also repertoire. Although it's only been a few months, I honestly feel like my playing has improved under Daniel (more so than it ever has under any other instructor I've had) because of his steady guidance and ability to find new ways to target roadblocks. I feel he sincerely cares about improving his student's skills. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone who is looking to becoming a better violinist. He is one of the best!

I am an adult amateur with some previous experience and have studied with Daniel for two years. He has the combination of being both very intuitive and very analytical - critical in effective teaching. Often I would arrive at a lesson with a vague idea of many problems old and new, and within the first minutes or seconds he would point out the main issue or two, followed with various suggestions of exercises and experiments, and if one explanation does not resonate with me he would try to explain it another way. A lesson is always filled with actionable plans, and goals that may be challenging but attainable with persistence and purposeful work. I'm not only making progress in sound quality, articulation, etc., but also improving my practice habits. Besides being a superb musician and teacher, Daniel is a marvelous individual: intelligent and hardworking (and not without a bit of playfulness), and extremely kind and patient. His enthusiasm for all things creative and expressive is inspirational to anyone who is fortunate to work with him. I recommend Daniel highly.

Daniel is a great teacher- he focuses on making the student competent to a point where they can eventually teach themselves. His teaching has overall made me a much more competent and confident violinist. He also teaches at a pace I am comfortable with, which is good considering I am very busy and work full time. He pushes me just enough and not too much so that I look forward to each lesson. A great guy- any student would be lucky to have him as a teacher. His rate is also very fair. All around, best teacher I've had.
