Thank you! I'm incredibly impressed by the determination and joy you bring to lessons! You will be singing your solo in no time:-))!
Great teacher! Very energetic, had a plan, gave specific recommendations and exercises to practice, has a lovely voice, and plays accompaniment for you. Really encouraged me and was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses for further development. I highly recommend taking a lesson with Emily.Jun 15, 2016Verified
I was only able to sign up for 6 lessons with Emily before I move away, but in a short amount of time she was able to improve my voice, technique, confidence, and prepare me for the next level in my singing abilities.Apr 25, 2016Verified
Emily is patient and loaded with helpful tips for short-term improvement, while also providing a challenging experience aimed at long-term goals. A+Sep 14, 2015Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All pricing is based on my years of experience and credentials. All lessons and services are paid for upfront through my scheduling website. *Note: I am located in Boston, if you are not in the Boston area, lessons are online by Skype. This is a great way to take lessons conveniently in your home! About 80% of my studio is online.*
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first lesson focuses on getting to know the experience of a student and what they hope to gain out of lessons. After this, I adjust the lesson plan moving forward according to their goals moving forward. Some items we may work on include: vocal technique, song work, sight singing, music theory, and career coaching. I often get asked "how long until I see results?" The answer is it depends entirely on the student and the work they put into lessons. From your very first lesson you will leave with at least one tool to use towards your singing. I have seen students with ZERO experience get admitted into choirs after 3 months of hard work. It depends!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a M.M. from Florida State University in Voice Performance and a B.A. from Plymouth State University in Voice Performance and PEDAGOGY. Pedagogy is specifically the study of one-on-one teaching. I spent time as a teachers assistant for various vocal classes throughout my degrees, a section leader for multiple choirs, and earned the STAR award for the most promising voice teacher from PSU from MTNA (Music Teachers National Assn.)
