Introduction: Hello, I am Jacob (pronouns they/them theirs) of Lightfox Studios, and I welcome you to show up exactly as you are. I am an LGBTQIA+ photographer from the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. I specialize in intimate portraiture and intimate lifestyle product photography. As an LGBTQ positive photographer, I want to celebrate you just as you are. No matter if you're struggling with gender identity, looking for a set of pictures to show off at your next gay pride event, or just want to share your queer as heck couple's boudoir shoot all over social media, I’m here for that. When it comes to celebrating you and your body, it helps to have a photographer not just who knows LGBTQ people or LGBTQ couples, but who is themselves a member of the LGBTQ community. At Lightfox Studios, we are a firmly queer studio and value inclusivity. We always strive to be anti-racist, body positive (or body neutral), gender-affirming, accessible, and open to being corrected. At Lightfox Studios, we embolden you to rip off the exhausting mask you wear in public and show the world your authentic self.

I had a wonderful boudoir session with Lightfox Studios! Services were super professional. I was able to get very comfortable with the photographer during the shoot and was given tips and posing ideas the entire time. I was laughing and getting lost in the enjoyment of my experience. This is well worth the purchase! Both as a positive experience and also for the self-love, body-positivity, and awesome results you will get.

Jacob is an amazing photographer. They're super professional, super helpful, super fun. They are amazing to collaborate with, and will listen to any ideas and suggestions and incorporate them to the best of their abilities. They will do just about anything(within reason 😉) to make you look good. We actually went over our time limit, as we were having so much fun, we lost track of time. If you're looking for a fab photographer, look no further. 💜

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Jacob and Lightfox. Finding a nonbinary photographer immediately helped me feel more comfortable, and Jacob took my broad idea and turned it into a photo album that will be a treasured memory of a time where I felt amazing and happy rather than anxious about my body and worry about being 'sexy'. Jacob gives great advice on how to be comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera, and I immediately felt at ease. The process in front of the camera was fun and carefree, and they made choosing photos for the album effortless. The quality of the photos and the book I received were worth every penny and I cannot recommend Lightfox more highly.

Jacob made this experience truly amazing. From the make up artist they hired Maggie to their support and encouragement during the shoot. They were super professional and made me feel completely hyped and comfortable the whole time. They listened to my concerns and anxiety especially during covid times and were responsive, understanding and kind. The photos came out AMAZING and I will cherish them for years to come. I will definitely be back for future events.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our retainer to hold your date is $400 and covers your studio time, professional hair and makeup, pre-shoot consultation, wardrobe and styling advice, and professional retouching of all final images. Photos including collections, albums, and digital images are purchased separately, you only buy the ones you fall in love with.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, we'll chat about your goals, your reason for doing this, and the purpose of the images that we'll make together. Once we have that, I can help guide you through the process of visualizing and developing a shoot tailored to you and to your goals. I like to speak on the phone before you book, so I can walk you through the entire process and make sure you are comfortable. Maybe it's a studio shoot with lights and props and a full set of flowers and seven outfit changes. Maybe it's as simple as getting naked in the woods. Maybe it's a more traditional "boudoir" setting, in a home or bedroom. Maybe it’s my studio or the outdoor clawfoot tub set that I’ve constructed. The possibilities are endless. Then we'll create a collaborative Pinterest board to set the mood and get ideas. I'll send you a bunch of emails with tips and tricks to help you make the most of your experience, including my Client Guide. On the day of the shoot we'll take the time we need to in order to make sure you're as absolutely comfortable as you can be before we start. We'll sit down and talk, we'll open up to each other and help you relax. This is all about you, and I'm here to make the experience a special one.
