I am always quick and confident to refer Steve W. to anyone that brings up they are looking into travel. In 2010, when my husband and I decided to go the destination wedding route, we felt like a "chain travel agent" would be easiest and cheapest way to go. Boy! Were we wrong! After popping into and meeting with a agent at this big name company, we felt as though it seemed more expensive for just the travel/airfare (not even adding in a few extra excursions, let alone booking a beach wedding). How stressful :( but we decided to bite the bullet and against my gut instinct just pay the money so 1 less thing to worry about. We would just have to save our pennies for all the extras (as non seasoned travelers we had no clue we could shop around. As faith would have it, we returned for a 3rd time to meet with agent and hand over our money, we had made an appointment for this day (a Sunday appointment at 2:00). And as I said, things happen for a reason and there was nobody in the office and doors were locked. Yes on a Sunday afternoon, and yes with an appointment. I was so upset (not one to stress and neither the bridezilla type) but after a few tears flowed my then fiancé said let's find someplace else. Thank goodness for the Internet! From there we got Steves number, I called and explained situation. He told me no worries, and to drive right over! He invited us over to meet and chat about what our expectations were, what our plans would be, what we wanted and didn't want in regards to our destination wedding. He calmed me down, jotted down notes, even suggested a few other places to keep in mind (as we were looking for tropical, but trying to stay in budget). We had our kind set on Jamaica as it seemed the cheapest and what fit into our budget as we were paying for wedding with no help from others. He jotted down our budget and said he would reach out to us by the next day. He went above and beyond with all the info he put together within 24 hours. Including all inclusive accommodations to the Bahamas, air fare to Paradise Island Bahamas, he also gave me the most amazing wedding coordinators info so I could relay to her what I envisioned my perfect wedding to be. She took care of everything! I was skeptical trying to plan day of wedding details, but she was also in constant contact with me, as well as Steve checking in constantly to make sure we were happy. We had 26 friends and family go though him also as they were attending with us. We had NO complaints from any of our guests, many of them were seasoned travelers and said Steve was one of the best they had pleasure of working with. And to top it off, with the money we saved, Steve was able to coordinate an extra 5 days for my husband and I to go solo (honeymoon) to another island! He coordinated everything from soup to nuts! He set up a small 6 seat aircraft to take us from Paradise Island to another island about 30 mins by air away! We stayed at Sandals in Great Exuma, all inclusive, 24 hour butler service, and much much more! Sorry for blabbing, but I can really not say enough about Steve and his passion to truly take care and alleviate the stress out of EVERYTHING! So thank you tons my friend, can't wait to save some money (once kids are in college haha), and to book through you. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?There is no standard pricing system in the travel industry. The majority of the pricing- 99.9% of the time, I get paid by the vendors for selling their packages. No out of pocket expenses for you! If it is an extreme time consuming quote or a quote which requires a lot of research, a refundable deposit may be required. Group travel will require a refundable deposit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, I like to have a conversation via phone- it assists me with what it is my perspective client is looking for. I also don't mind talking with my perspective client face to face. I like to have a discussion with them to get a better feel as to what they are looking for. From there, I will do everything in my power to make it as convenient and easy of a process as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am constantly doing continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in the travel and tourism field. Resorts are constantly changing offers, airlines are constantly changing fares and rules, cruise lines are the same- I am involved in numerous accredited classes, most of which are taken online, which assist me with keeping on top of all of the trends. I also get continuing education credits for all of the hours of study.
