I had already taken the Manhattan GMAT class and did not improve. Then I had heard of Arbor Tutors through a friend and I contacted them. They help assess my gaps and arrange a game plan so that I could be more effective the next time I took it and I did raise my score more than 200 points! I'm very happy. Arbor Tutors is a fantastic company!
Oliver was a great help to my daughter reviewing the math section for the ACT and SAT's. Her SAT score increased by 130 points! We were are so pleased, that I have already asked Oliver to tutor my younger daughter with pre-calc and SAT prep in the Fall....Thanks Oliver!!!
Ryan has been great in helping our son prepare for the PSAT/SAT. Very professional.
Quantum Prep was excellent. My daughter had decent SAT scores but wanted to try to raise them. After a few sessions with her tutor, she could see that it was helping. She just received her scores and we are thrilled. Quantum Prep was worth every penny. _Austin Prep parent (Reading, MA.)
John came on time and was a great help to my daughter, helping her with the math section of the SAT. He has also told her to contact him with any subsequent questions. I would recommend him to anyone.
Excellent! If I have time, I sit in on tutoring sessions. My son is always engaged. It has been a transformation for him. It shows in his grades - A on his most recent two tests. Thank you Professor Holton!
Kathie was wonderful with my daughter. We only had a short time to work together before my daughter had to take her ACT and because of Kathie my daughter felt prepared. Will absolutely use her again for my other daughter!
Marcie is a professional and dedicated teacher. She brings many years of experience and value to her craft. Marcie holds a high standard of her self as a teacher, she's great with kids one on one and in a classroom setting. You cannot go wrong with hiring marcie as your tutor.
I have known Angela for six years and she is kind to her students and very patient. She is very knowledgeable about the piano and her students really enjoy her lessons. She works very hard to make sure that her students continue growing and learn to love the piano. i have enjoyed each lesson with her.
Elisha is a very qualified tutor. She not only knew the subject material well, she was very patient and made sure I understood everything well. She helped me prepare for my SAT. Before I sought tutoring, my math score was 440 and after studying with Elisha, my math score went up to 690. I can’t recommend her enough.
Great help with my sat prep. Very knowledgeable and will see results.
We had a positive experience working with Lowden Tutoring. The only thing that would have made it better for me was location, but that is on me. Erika is very kind and patient.
So far so good! Ryan is focused and seems like a great fit for my daughter. Very professional.
My daughter was taking advanced calculus and suffered an injury during a sporting event. During her recovery she missed a lot of school but with help from A Great Place to Learn was able to stay current with her assignments. Flexible scheduling, priced right, very professional. Thank you for helping our family. Anne M.
I have no idea what other tutors do --- I know, from feedback from students and parents, that I do an excellent job --- first, I know my subject matter (math, physics) --- second, I like helping people --- third, I am very patient --- fourth, I ask leading questions of the student, so as to guide that student into discovering for himself/herself, as much as possible, what is involved in understanding, and then solving, the problem at hand
An undergraduate student at MIT, I have over 4 years of tutoring experience, with middle school students and high school students alike. I've personally tutored 6 students to an ACT score of 34s, 35s and 36s, and I'm eager to continue helping more students achieve their dreams.
I am not a certified tutor. However, I am fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Russian. I also read and write Arabic.
There are a number of things I do that stand out. First, I'm not out to make a big profit from this. You get the amount of service you need, and meet the goals that are realistic, at a reasonable price. There is nobody, and I do mean NOBODY! who can teach some learning disabled kids better, faster, and to the best of their abilities than I can. I have recommendations from professional peers, a recent supervisor, and parents that will tell you that, time and time again. I can - when conditions are right - teach people how to tell which hand is which, In ONE TO FOUR MINUTES. These are severely dyslexic people, who have NEVER been able to tell their right hand from their left, through ages 11 to 21. Sound impossible? It's real. I travel to you, unless you'd rather meet somewhere central, like a local library. So much of what you pay goes to car expense. To balance costs, I use longer tutoring sessions of 1 to 2 hours per session, and fewer sessions, when possible. When you can't sit that long, we take short breaks and / or have shorter sessions anyway.
I hold two master's degrees in education. I specialize in reading, comprehension and writing. I have taught elementary and middle school and have successfully worked with hundreds of students in public school and privately.
I have a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's degree in mathematics. I am currently an adjunct math professor. I have one client currently. She is in the fifth grade and received an A- in math this past semester. This summer, we are going over problems geared toward the ISEE test.
All of our tutors have at least a M.A. degree and experience teaching and tutoring. We work on a pay-as-you go basis which means that you only pay for the sessions your child uses.
