"Bulent is a fun loving teacher who loves music, and is wonderful with children of all ages. He has taught our daughter for both voice and piano lessons and our son for drum lessons. His technical knowledge is wonderful, he is exact with the students in regard to technique, breathing and stretching exercises, and body alignment. His lessons are fun and he is full of enthusiasm which rubs off on the students. He helps make younger students feel at ease, and has a gentle manner, which makes lessons very enjoyable. We would recommend Bulent to anyone, regardless of musical ability." Allyson P. and Jason E.
Very Nice experience. Mr. Josh is a best teacher I met. We had a lot of fun, the lessons were so good, and I learned a lot from his class
I have never touched a drum until I started working with Laura and she has taught me so much in as little as 3 weeks. She is very enthusatic about drumming and sets goals for me to follow and work towards. I always look forward to my lessons with her as she makes it fun and a great learning experience! Thanks Laura!!
David has been teaching me guitar for a little over a month now. I have already seen great advances in my technique, rhythm, and understanding of music. I have been playing guitar for 9 years off and on, and I have never had professional lessons. I can say that after a month with David, I am playing better than I ever have and believe that my guitar playing skills will continue to progress rapidly with David's help. His teaching technique is very casual and fun, almost conversational, and his insights are spot on. He is exactly what I hoped for in an instructor when I started looking at guitar lessons and I would highly recommend him for anyone who loves guitar, regardless of their skill level. He is a 'must hire' professional!
I took lessons from John for seven years. In those seven years, I learned more from him than I could have learned from any other tutor. For the first four years, I took lessons directly from John, in person. Unfortunately, I needed to move and could no longer take lessons from him. We decided to give skype lessons a try and stuck with it for three more years with little difference. From drum-set, to piano, to snare drum, to djembe, he knows it all. Heck, if you're desperate, he'll show you some of his belly beats. If it wasn't for a busy schedule, I'd most certainly still be taking lessons from him. His lessons are very fun and laid-back! John is truly a phenomenal teacher!
I am a beginner in my mid 30s. I've had 3 lessons for guitar so far with George and have learned a lot. Very knowledgeable (Theory, reading music, tab, etc..), patient, helpful, and teaches well. Shows up on time and is communicative. Excited to continue to learn more! Highly recommend!
My son started taking drum lessons a short time ago. Kris is so kind and patient with my son. He is all about positive feedback and I love that. He is already making progress. He wouldn't be able to do this without the constant positive feedback.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more In a drum teacher, lessons have been really fun and he helps me learn what I need to learn in a very time efficient way. Couldn’t recommend him more!
I'm 40 years old and, though I have played several musical instruments formally and informally in my past, the last time I played orchestral or rock-n-roll instruments was 20 years ago. When I recently mentioned to my wife that I'd really like to learn to play guitar "right" sometime (having dabbled in teaching myself a long time ago), she got lessons with Greg for my birthday. I've been to around 10 lessons with Greg so far, and I have to say that I'm really impressed with his teaching skills. First off, he adapts very quickly to your skill level; he'll give you things to challenge you while not overwhelming you. Second, he doesn't only teach you scales and musical theory without application like some music teachers do. Third, he listens to what *you* want to do. For example, I told him that I always wanted to learn finger picking, and mentioned a few songs I liked that used that technique; he learned them on his own and the began teaching them to me. Fourth, in a good balance between my second and third points, he will always sneak in some theory into your lessons but always teach you how the theory can help you in practical situations. For example, in my very first lesson he taught me the simple minor pentatonic scale and showed me how I can use it to solo in any 12-bar blues song. Finally, he's someone that makes you feel comfortable at all times -- someone you aren't afraid to screw up in front of, and someone you can bring questions to. I really enjoy our lessons, feel like I'm learning a lot, and plan to continue. When my kids are old enough to start learning an instrument, I'll send them to Greg too. Please consider using Greg as your teacher. I think you'll be very satisfied.
Sam has been a wonderful teacher and mentor to my son over the last 2 years. The lesson goes beyond just music. Sam's ability to relate to children and his love for his craft excites engages whomever he teaches. He instills confidence and gentle guidance while engaging in lessons that allow kids to build upon their music week to week. I would highly recommend Sam for his professionalism, talent and his values.
Rick is a drum instructor, and I've been taking weekly, hour-long lessons with him for 6 months. After trying out a few instructors in Boston who had no methodology, no go-to books, no handouts, and generally no system or materials for teaching, I found Rick via much googling. Rick is a Berklee trained, practicing musician & drum instructor. His facilities are great: a treated room with 2 side-by-side kits, 2 practice pads, metronomes, etc. Rick has an endless supply of ideas, handouts, and also, a great book (that he authored) that's kept me busy for longer than any other books I've worked with (this is a good thing). He teaches in local schools, as well as private lessons, and I'm glad to have found an instructor that's thinking about drumming & instruction at the professional level he's engaged in. I enjoy Rick on a personal level (I'm near him in age), but would consider him a good role model for kids, showing patience & flexibility in his approach, as well as espousing a strong work ethic.
Cool drum lessons
Marco is AWESOME! I love my lessons and find him to be so great at making me relaxed and able to understand everything he's showing me and explaining to me. I've had teachers before, Marco is hands-down the best I've had. I feel so lucky to tap in to his knowledge and talents and extensive experience.
I have had an excellent experience taking drum lessons from juan. He is extremely good at assessing the skill level of the student and presenting challenging material that will allow the student to grow quickly. Juan has taught me not only very applicable grooves but also concepts that have both transformed my practice time and opened up my mind to the creative possiblities on my instrument. He has shown me several ways to maximize my practice time and ways in which I can most effectively integrate what I am learning into my natural playing. Juan is an extremely knowledgeable musician and I myself have grown as a musician after just over a month of taking lessons from him.
Ben has a good teaching style that works for me. What the path to accomplishment is and how what we're doing today contributes to that/fits into the big picture.
My 11 year old has been learning from Matt for more than a year now. Matt is a fantastic teacher. He has instilled a love of music and drums in my son. Matt is not only a great drummer, but also knows how to relate to young folk and keep the sessions interesting with humor. My kid loves his jokes and thinks Matt is way cool! Matt can teach both at his studio or at your home. My kid likes to go to his studio, since he has drumsets, guitars and a piano there. Matt will often teach a lesson and then intersperse it with jamming on the guitar and singing, while my kid drums. It is very motivating to see how all the pieces work together. Matt is also flexible, easygoing and friendly. It is difficult to find a teacher who is excellent at what he does AND can keep kids motivated with humor AND is an overall great guy! Matt also teaches adults. I strongly recommend Matt as a teacher for you or your kid!
We have known Dennis Shafer for almost two years, in that time he has taught my now 10 year old son to play the clarinet and more recently the saxophone. He also managed and led a small group of students to form a band; all of which were beginners in their instruments. Dennis is a fantastic teacher, he is passionate and enthused and very much an inspiration for my son. His lessons are fun and he introduces different types of music. Thomas has developed well with Dennis and accomplished much. I would highly recommend him to others.

I am a Boston based graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance. I create fun and engaging lessons for all ages that are tailored to your specific personalities and needs! I have worked with a wide range of age levels from 7 year olds to adults in their 40s. The skill levels were anywhere from kids just wanting to try drums out, to students wanting an advanced method and perspective on drums and music. I try to cater to the students specific needs and preferences, and find great rewards in the various styles of teaching from beginner to advanced. I love to incorporate listening and transcribing famous beats or songs, as well as songs the students might want to learn. I use a mix of learning from notation and reading, with hearing things by ear as well, to develop a balanced connection between the limbs and ears. I use drum method books for things like 4-way independence in the limbs, and having good technique and control. I also think improvisation is an essential part of music, and I allow students to be free in expressing their musical ideas within the context of a song or groove. This is the most fun for me! One fun method I use is a Call and Response method, to work on memory and critical listening as well. It all depends on the pace that the student is most comfortable with, and maybe if they only want to learn their favorite pop/rock songs, thats fine as well. I just might try incorporating the methods above in a more suitable way for that specific individual.
I am a professional drummer with over 20 years of teaching experience. House calls are available for all levels, from beginner to professional. I am patient. I have a fun and relaxed approach.
