Paul made our first wedding dance go seamlessly. He presented us with a superb routine, and made sure we were poised and confident! Thank you!
I am preparing for my son's wedding. I haven't done any dancing in years. Debi makes it fun to learn! She has patience and knows what she is doing. Highly recommend!
We worked with Lauren on some basic moves for our wedding first dance. The lesson we had with her made us much more comfortable and ready for the wedding!
We first met Betty when a friend of ours gifted us two free dance lessons leading up to our wedding. Betty worked with us to put together a swing dance routine for our first dance over the course of four one hour lessons. Neither of us had ever taken dance lessons before, but under Betty's guidance we learned the basics of swing and a routine that we really enjoyed and felt comfortable with. Everyone at the wedding really loved our dance, and for months afterward people were still telling us how impressed they were. We enjoyed our time with Betty so much that we have continued our lessons with her and have had fun learning new styles like hustle and cha cha. Betty is very kind and a wonderful teacher and dancer. Her passion for dance is apparent in the enthusiasm she brings to every lesson. We would highly recommend Kitchen Dancing to anyone looking to learn dance for their wedding or just for fun!
I have been taking the Jehlen Modern dance technique with founder Wendy Jehlen for about a year. Wendy's technique is special. You will feel peaceful, streteched out, centered and physically stronger after just one session. She teaches at a pace that is good for both beginners and seasoned movers. Her music is fantastic! I am happy she is back from her journey to India, her class was missed by me and many of my movement mates. On a scale of 1-5, I give her class a 5+.
I started taking lessons at The Dancing Feeling about six years ago expecting to learn some dance steps and get some exercise. Little did I know that very soon my whole life would change. The instructors were wonderful; so patient and encouraging. I soon went from a couple of group classes a week to private lessons as well; a perfect mix! The more I learned the more I wanted to learn. I then started competing which allowed for not only focusing on dance at a different level but also meeting lots of new friends and the opportunity to travel. The Dancing Feeling also offers a dance party each weekend where all levels of dancers are welcome. Whether you want to attend the dance parties, take group lessons, private lessons, compete, or any/all of the above, the Dancing Feeling offers it all! The friendships, experiences, and knowledge I have gained has been invaluable!

There's a big reason why we'll be celebrating our 60th anniversary next year. We really care. We care about dance and teaching our students properly, of course, but we also care about our students and families. Come and see why people say, "There's no place like AMJ!"

When I started dancing, I was a complete newbie to both dance and music. I had never danced a single step in my life, had no idea what salsa music was like, and was in poor shape to boot. Over the years, salsa dancing has transformed my life and given me a tremendously positive outlet to pour my energy into. I want to share my love of dance with others, and also help provide them with the resources to further their own growth. To that end, I have a very technical and detailed approach to dance that came from my own trials and struggles as a complete beginner. When working with my students, I'm very attentive to their individual hiccups and strengths and try to focus on the latter while informing them about the former. I also never give up on a student! As long as they're willing, so am I.

We offer performances, lessons and workshops of belly dance, Zambra Mora (gipsy belly dance fusion), and performance of sevillanas - flamenco! The fusion of belly dance and flamenco that we know today is called Zambra Mora, after the flamenco music is developed by Sabicas. Zambra Mora has the same proud posture of flamenco, floreos (isolated wrists rotations), heavy travel steps and some characteristic turns. From Arabic dance, Zambra Mora borrows undulations, shimmies and hip and chest circles. Zambra Mora is a form of flamenco music with Middle Eastern melodies and rhythm, which is sung or played on guitar. Master guitarist Sabicas (1912-1990) is the one who gave its name to this form of flamenco music (from ancient Moors celebration) and made it popular and developed it. When the Gypsies began migrating to Spain, they were easily identified with the the Spanish Moors' Oriental dance style, incorporating some of their dance and music forms that could have been flamenco in its early phases and not yet fully defined. The Zambras of Granada united the persecuted Gypsies and Moriscos in dance and song during such tempestuous times in the country's history (think "Spanish Inquisition"). The Gypsies not just borrowed the title Zambra from the Moors by incorporating it into their Zambra Gitana, but presented the Zambra Por Moro with a earthy, pulsating rhythm quite similar to the Tarantos and Tangos. Of all the flamenco forms, it's the Zambra Mora which has the strongest Arabic feel. It isn't to be confused with the medieval sounding Zambra Granadína. Come to enjoy the dance of the air, belly dance, and the dance of the fire, Zambra Mora!
I'm a dancer, and I take classes as well because I believe that the more you learn, the better you get. There is no rush, as long as we're having fun, and you're learning .
