Our company is in the midst of a full rebuild of our website as we move towards EDI and a catalog based approach to our industrial business. To this end, we needed a series of professional photographs of our facilities, our products, and how they are applied and used. We contacted Design Imaging Studios who sent Mr. Christian Scully, an RIT degreed professional photographer who was outstanding in all respects. He was pleasant, VERY patient, understanding and went about his work quietly and professionally. He used photographic and lighting techniques we'd never seen before and it was fascinating to watch Christian work photographing our products and packages, and then seeing the result of these innovative lighting techniques he used to provide our designer with the exact look that he was tasked to deliver for us. Design Imaging Studios is great and we are extremely happy with their work. At one point, we were unloading a 50,000 ton ship of bulk rock salt and we had to climb 80' up inside of a tower crane to get images of the boom and clam-shell unloading the ship. Christian quietly climbed the spiral stairs inside the tower and when we emerged onto the open catwalk 9 stories up in the air, Christian looked a little wide eyed and I asked if he was ok and it was at that point that he shared he suffers from acrophobia. Of all the places to be with acrophobia, you couldn't have a more dramatic space; a moving spinning platform that is shaking like an earthquake constantly. In a few months our new website will be live and you can look at the incredible images Christian took from that perch. The point is that this is a very professional and committed to his work photographer who will deliver what the customer wants and asks for no matter what limits he might have to face to get the images. We could not be any happier with the images and the way in which he conducted himself in our offices, in our analytical labs, at our warehouses, and finally at the port while we were being buffeted by high winds viewing the unloading of a ship from 9 stories up. I'm more than honored to provide a reference or review for DIS and the work they did for us, and there will be more work for them in our future without any question.

Upon a reference from our Architect, we retained Christian Sully AIAP and owner of Design Imaging Studios to shoot photos for a new two (2) bedroom rental unit we were bringing to market on the East Side of Providence. The results were incredible. Within hours of uploading Christian's photos to real estate marketing websites I was overwhelmed by email and phone inquiries to tour the unit. In reference to the photos, interested parties used phrases like “magazine quality” and quickly began referring to our new unit as “luxury” and “high end”, phrases that we did not included in our marketing materials. As if the responsiveness and feedback we received from Christian’s photos was not enough, we solidified our support for Christian and Design Imaging Studios when our unit rented in days and at a rate that exceeded the pre-construction proforma. Design Imaging Studios has carved out a niche in the field of real estate photography. In a competitive real estate environment where thousands of listings are at everyone’s finger tips, listing hits and site traffic means everything. An increase in listing hits starts with a great cover photo and a request to tour a property is the product of an equally impressive deck of photos behind it. Christian armed my business partners and I with the photography to be successful and we will be using Design Imaging Studios again on future projects.

Christian is not only an incredibly gifted photographer, but he is also a total pleasure to work with! Right out of the gate Christian was responsive, informative, efficient and punctual. The project was a large rambling farmhouse located in rural Vermont that I wanted documented for my Interior Design portfolio. Christian was able to work really well with me remotely, taking the extra time to fully understand what I wanted from the project (the details, the views, the flow etc) and epically capture it. He was right on target with every deadline and really receptive to letting me provide some impute on what I was hoping for in the post editing phase. I found Christian on Thumbtack and have been so happy with my experience, as well as impressed with Thumbtack's ability to draw such high quality professionals. Will definitely be using Christian for future projects!

Christian Scully did a great job on very short notice. His photos captured the elements of our roofing system perfectly. Not only that, but he brought an artistic eye to it that made a sometimes bland subject exciting. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Christian again. His pricing was fair and his images went above and beyond what I expected.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the type/size of photo shoot, who will be using the images, how they will be using the images and the total number of images delivered. We always try to tailor a photo shoot to your needs and budget, and are happy to discuss those concerns. Within reason, we can adjust the photo shoot and deliverables to help most of the awesome companies that want to work with us.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we need to learn about what you are looking for. We will ask for the basics: who, what, when, where, why and how much... The more we know about your situation, the better we can tailor our services specifically for you and try to give you the best images possible for a price that helps you move forward, not back. We can then put a formal quote together for you. Once you review it, if you have any concerns please let us know. We are happy to consider any changes. If you love our style and really want to work with us, then we will do everything in our power to make that happen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Christian Scully has a BFA in Advertising Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. He has focused on photographing architecture and interiors, as well as products, for the past 11 years.
