East Coast Training Systems (ECTS) specializes in the areas of self-defense, martial arts, and fitness. Owned by the husband and wife team of Drew and Daniele Serrano, ECTS is comprised of professional instructors and trainers.
Drew is a 7th degree black belt master and 10th degree grandmaster with 33+ years in martial arts and fitness. He has been featured on Discovery Channel, ESPN2, David Letterman, and Jay Leno in connection to his martial arts skill.
Drew is also the co-founder of the United States and World Breaking Association, the sanctioning body for martial arts breaking, and a member of numerous martial arts-related federations and organizations.
Daniele is a 2nd and 3rd degree black belt with close to 20 years of experience. She is a former fitness model and has been featured in multiple independent action films, winning "Female Breakout Action Star" in 2009.
ECTS has created the following original programs:
- Escape Alive Survival Skills - the leading women's self-defense program in CT, in partnership with Jane Doe No More.
- Kun Tao Combatives - no nonsense real-life self-defense for everyone based on a progressive certification program.
- Strike Fit Fitness - a unique blend of martial arts, fitness, and combative principals that takes participants through a full body workout, while learning basic striking and combative principles.
- ECTS Foundations- leadership and character building for elementary to college age students.
ECTS instructors include world champions, personal trainers, state and local police officers, and career martial artists.
In addition to a main location in Waterbury, CT, ECTS teaches regularly at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and Amistad Academy Elementary in New Haven, and teaches self-defense classes throughout the state.
