Evertte is an extremely knowledgeable trainer especially in the field of functional patterns. He goes above and beyond to personalize training methods for ones personal needs as well as making me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend trying Evertte’s unique approach to training!Oct 8, 2019Verified
More than just your typical trainer. I've had my share of experiences hiring personal trainers to act as accountability guides and motivators, but Everett stands apart from the rest. His holistic approach to wellness combines the physical with the mental/emotional to help create a better balance for your entire life OUTSIDE of the 1:1 sessions. Functional pattern training is unlike training in a gym or any of the typical exercises you might see in a franchise wellness center or in exercise videos. It goes beyond doing an "arbitrary" exercise well, and focuses on creating strength and capability of movement for your daily life. When I first started working with Everett a year ago I was at absolute zero. I know people often say things like that in testimonials, but I could not even adjust my body position while seated without getting winded. I wasn't walking upright, and I was folded in on myself, slowly collapsing under my physical and psychological weight. I didn't want or need someone who would make me do uncomfortable exercises despite my frustrations and pains, and Everett is nothing like that. I've never been forced to do something I didn't want to do, and if anything causes a sense of discomfort or unease, we stop to discuss it and figure out the resistance underneath it so we both have a better understanding of myself. For the first time in my 39 years I am walking with correct posture and my head held high. It has nothing to do with my weight and everything to do with how he's taught by example with patience, kindness, and gentle corrective guidance. Household chores are now easier because my body has been learning how to move properly, and daily movement is so vastly different it's like I'm living in an entirely different body than I was before I started working with Everett. I cannot recommend him enough as a personal trainer, a coach, or as a fine example of a human being you will ever meet.Jul 17, 2018
I have scoliosis and disc narrowing at l5/s1. For the past 8 months I have been suffering of lower and mid back pain that I have not been able to get under control. The pain coincided with the timing of an increase in my yoga practice (I have now learned why). I have been to 2 chiropractors, did PT, acupuncture, PEMF and went to see a physiatrist and Ortho both of which advised me to get a cortisone shot. I wanted to heal my body and not mask an issue with a cortisone shot. I was referred to Everett and have had several training sessions with him so far. I knew I was on the right path when after just the first training session I noticed that my back didn’t hurt after I sneezed. I have progressively been getting better and I know that my body is finally healing naturally the way that it should and this will give me long lasting results! With a holistic approach, Everett is helping me release years of bad habits/poor posture and giving me a new awareness of my body with proper movement and form. We have been working towards decompressing my spine and it is working! Everett is not only very knowledgeable in what he does but he is genuine and vested in me getting better. He is kind, patient and down to earth. I highly recommend Everett to anyone suffering from any kind of pain whether chronic or new. I also recommend him to anyone wanting to learn about their body and help prevent issues in the future! Our bodies were designed to fight for us and heal and Everett will help show you how!Dec 3, 2019Verified
Working with Evrett has been amazing! Informative, challenging and transformative. He draws from years of experience and combines slow controlled exercises, dynamic movements and myofascial release to help me train out of my years of bad patterns. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is serious and curious about learning more about their bodies and how to make meaningful changes in their alignment.Jul 23, 2018
In working with a Diet Coach and it was suggested that I also bring Strength Training into my focus. In walked Everett Hoffman. He's brought improved awareness of what it means to be strong, bettered my posture and why it is all important in an integrated approach - especially as I get older. It's now been over two years and my entire perspective and physical appearance has changed. We work together in my living room so it's accessible, well thought out and personally designed. He's made a study of the work he does so I benefit continually from the process and his insights. The encouragement is always positive and he is a delight to work with. Run - don't walk to work with him! Highly recommended!Jul 17, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We have two levels of pricing: full and discount (available to folks on MassHealth, students, non-profit employees, active and veteran military/police/firefighters.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We begin by assessing your posture and walking, discovering how you hold tension in your body. Then we target areas that hold too much tension and release it. Next we use corrective exercises and dynamic to restore tension where it needs to be for effective, pain free movement. This is an iterative and progressive process as we gain more understanding of your unique patterning.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been a personal trainer for 5 years and a certified Functional Patterns practitioner since 2017.
