FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I can be flexible, depending on distance and times per week.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Masters Degree in Education and I am licensed in Mathematics for grades K-8. I taught grades 7-8 in a classroom for 7 years, and have been doing math intervention for grades 3-8 for the past 6 years. I have worked with many different math curriculum over the years, and know the current methods students are using in math classes.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved teaching, and loved being a classroom teacher, but as a classroom teacher I wasn't able to help the few students who were behind and struggling/frustrated as much as I wanted to. I started tutoring for extra income, and found I really liked having the freedom to be creative, and a knack for helping students working below grade level. It was a reason got out of the classroom and became a math interventionist. Now, everyday I work with students who are struggling, and working below their grade level in math. I enjoy working with multiple grades, it gives me the advantage of knowing what topics students will really need to have a solid understanding of for upcoming grades.
