This is it. This is the tutor you want to hire. Oliver is a total professional, friendly, accessible, punctual and relatable. He is down to earth and knows what he is doing. My son's score jumped by more than 130 points and he says Oliver taught him a way to look at the test problems from a different perspective that often made solving them an intuitive process. HIRE HIM.
My son has been working with Ryan and Patrick in ACT prep online. They are both excellent.
I hired Lisa to tutor my daughter for her SAT prep. Her scores went up significantly and her writing component was very high. Lisa is an expert, educated and a great mentor.
My Son has an IEP and Michael worked with him to prep for the ACT. We met ahead of time, reviewed my sons strengths and weaknesses and Michael set up a study plan for him. My son enjoyed the study sessions and practiced between meetings, I was impressed how well my son responded, homework is not one of his favorites. I was also given weekly progress updates. My son completed the exam and was comfortable because he was well prepared by Michael, I highly recommend him, he worked well with my son and showed interest in his success.
I recently ran across a review about Quantum Prep and felt like I just had to share my tutoring story as well. I graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington Massachusetts. Lexington High School is a huge school. When I say huge, I mean I graduated with five hundred and eleven classmates. I was always proud to go to Lexington High, we were rated number 19 in 2014 by Newsweek in their Americas Top Public Schools. Luckily my class sizes were always small and it was not too hard to get help from the teacher. The first semester of my junior year I was taking five classes. I was looking into pre-med, so I took a lot of hard science classes that gave me at least two hours of homework a night. I also worked on the weekends, swam competitively, played in the jazz band and was active in my religious youth group. That year I was taking AP Chemistry as a challenge and knew I was going to have a tough time with it. My teacher, Mrs. Compton, was great! She explained everything really well and broke it down for the class. I just really couldnt get everything in my notebook and in my head with enough time to move on to the next topic, so Id lose information here and there, making it really hard to answer test questions. I got the first F in my entire academic career on the first quiz. Im one of those people who expect a lot from themselves, and I expected As. I felt really bad about myself for the first two quizzes because I wasnt coming even close to what I knew I could do. In addition, because I was spending so much time working on AP Chemistry, my other classes were suffering. And as a prospective pre-med student, I was afraid that because I challenged myself I wasnt going to get into the colleges I wanted. That's when I called Quantum Prep for help. As soon as I had the first tutoring session I felt a little more reassured. We went over my quizzes and homework assignments and my tutor quickly picked up what I was missing and how to keep me focused. I felt much more confident walking into class every day. My tutor figured out how I best learn and we started laughing and making jokes as we did stereochemistry. Yes, he figured out within one session that I learn better with music playing in the background and even knew why! The real difference was that he didnt just teach me material, he taught me how to learn for myself. It was a game-changer in how I approached school and learning in general. So while he was teaching me one class, I was using the learning techniques he taught me to improve my grades in all of my classes. He even patiently sat through temper tantrums and low points. So what happened after I called Quantum Prep? The next quiz I took, I got thirty points higher than the last. The first exam; I got a B+. I went on to graduate in a science heavy degree, and got into my first choice for college and graduated with a degree in Neuropsychology. I highly suggest using Quantum Prep for any kind of tutoring. I had such a wonderful experience and have used the lessons I learned from him in so many different aspects of my life, from studying at the university to job experiences. Thank you Quantum Prep!
I met John using thumbtack and I received his Resume and spoke to him on the phone. My daughter was in serious need of help in math and it was behind a couple years with some things! She never received a higher grade then a 70 something on any of her math test. We met with John during the summer, once a week, she returned to school and received the highest grade in the class On her first test, I couldn't be more pleased with John! My daughter adores John and he's extremely easy for her to talk to and answers any of her questions through email!! He's very reliable and prompt and I can guarantee your child will succeed tremendously with his help!! Thanks John
I would be very happy to provide a reference for Roy. I highly recommend him. My daughter started tutoring with Roy in the 9th grade and continued with him the next two years (10th & 11th grades). When she started she was taking the accelerated Math class and was having some troubles with her teacher's style of teaching. Roy was able to fill in the gaps for her and give her the confidence (and knowledge) to succeed in the class. In the first reporting period after she started tutoring with Roy, she brought her grade up from a B- to a B+. That may not seem like a big jump but she was in a very competitive class and the teacher was a hard grader, so she was thrilled. After 9th grade, she continued to have the same teacher for the next two years and she also made it onto the Math Team (which the same teacher also led). Although she had by now gotten used to her teacher's way of teaching, Roy was extremely helpful in explaining some of the concepts more thoroughly and helping her when she was stuck with homework problems. He also helped her prepare for quizzes and major tests as well as the more complex math problems she had to face when competing on the math team. Roy was always patient and explained things to my daughter in a way she could understand. He also gave her different ways of thinking about solving a problem that she wasn't getting in class. I asked her about the types of math she studied with Roy and it sounds like it ranged from topics in algebra (mass points, bases, etc.), trigonometry, and calculus. He sometimes used proofs to explain concepts to her. I doubt if there would be any math topic that he couldn't teach, however. He also suggested extra things for her to consider or learn and posed more challenging problems - she called them "enrichment problems." He not only was interested in helping her stay on top of her coursework, he was also trying to stretch her abilities. I think this really paid off for her - not only did she continue to do well in class, but she also got a perfect score on the SAT Math II Subject Test. Hope you don't mind the long-winded review, but I wanted to show how important Roy's tutoring was to my daughter's success in math over the last 3 years. We usually met with him once a week during the school year and I believe his help really made a big impact on my daughter's ability. She also progressed from being insecure about her math abilities to feeling confident enough to tutor new math team members. In her words, she appreciated having a low pressure environment to learn math - a place where she wasn't been graded or judged, but just getting the personalized coaching she needed. She hasn't had to see him on a regular basis this year (she's taking AP Calculus) but will be using him to prep before big tests. PS - I should also mention that Roy is a very nice person as well.
I was looking for an online class and came across PrepScholar. It seemed to offer personalized service and claims of mightily improving test scores was this too good to be true? PrepScholar was just starting up when we tried it and one of the founders, Allen, was great with answering questions and making constant improvements. We gave feedback and they responded. My son is not a natural test-taker and was able to improve his SAT score by 240 points. I didnt think hed be able to improve that much, but PrepScholar was true to their promise. They have an effective method that really works. The tutorials and quizzes are constantly monitoring your childs specific needs and progress. If you are a parent that doesnt want to spend a fortune on private SAT tutoring or have your kid languish in a large group class, PrepScholar is really worth trying. They send out progress checks every week and encourage your kids to meet their goals. They keep track of how many hours are spent on task and you can receive that update too you will know if your kid is actually doing test prep or not! If you are thinking about signing up for an online SAT course, you should call and talk to someone at PrepScholar (keep in mind that they are on the East coast). They will answer your questions and help you feel like your kid can, not only survive the SAT, but do really well!
Nafisat Sanni " We have been greatly pleased with Damie tutoring our 11th grade son in maths. As concerned parents for the overall progress of our child at learning ,Damie was recommended by a reliable test prep service to help with his factorizing and graphing equations problem. Damie's perceptive skill in working through a student's area of strength in order to improve a weakness can't be overemphasized. We saw great improvement in our son's test scores in his maths class. We highly recommend Damie as a tutor for any level of math"
I have received help with multiple writing assignments in school, ACT tutoring, and supplement and college essay help. I do not know what I would do without Lisa! She has helped me go from a B english student to an A student. She has also done a great job working with me on my supplements and college essay. My english teacher and college counselor loved them! For my ACT scores, she helped me get a 33 on my first ACT in the reading section and helped me go from a 24 to a 35 in the english section.
Kathie was wonderful with my daughter. We only had a short time to work together before my daughter had to take her ACT and because of Kathie my daughter felt prepared. Will absolutely use her again for my other daughter!
Heather was able to quickly assess my daughters needs to prep for her exam. She did an amazing job working with her. We were very pleased with her services.
we highly recommend Anthony to tutor your child their college prep needs. he is very knowledgeable with SAT OR ACT and college application process.
Linda has tutored two of my sons over the last five years. My older son was able to improve his SAT scores as well as perfect his college application essay. He got into his first college choice. My younger son had problems expressing himself in writing and started working with Linda in 8th grade. Later he studied with Linda for ACT and got into his first college choice. Overall I was impressed with Linda's professionalism, great energy and great rapport with kids. They loved studying with her. In addition I could always rely on Linda being up to date on latest changes in SAT/ACT tests, which was tremendously helpful last year. We all feel very fortunate to have Linda as our ' Language Coach'.
I signed up with Cambridge Tutoring last winter when I was preparing for my GMATs. Working with Karthic saved me a ton of time as he was able to help me break down my studying into more organized sections. I stopped spending hours reading test prep books and instead spent a fraction of that time working through problem sets with him that addressed my individual needs as a student. I'd highly recommend Cambridge Tutoring to anyone that wants to accelerate/improve their preparation for the GMAT.
Gold Test Prep not only strengthened my skills but my confidence in test taking. They made preparing for the GMAT manageable and convenient. I have a job so the option to study with a tutor at a library or via Skype was a huge plus. My tutor was encouraging, helping me to set realistic goals and reach them within a limited time period. I saw considerable growth with my GMAT score from the practice exams to the extent that I only needed to take the test once. Can't thank Gold Test Prep enough, at the end of the day they produce results.
Super smart, professional, friendly tutor! Highly recommended.
There are a number of things I do that stand out. First, I'm not out to make a big profit from this. You get the amount of service you need, and meet the goals that are realistic, at a reasonable price. There is nobody, and I do mean NOBODY! who can teach some learning disabled kids better, faster, and to the best of their abilities than I can. I have recommendations from professional peers, a recent supervisor, and parents that will tell you that, time and time again. I can - when conditions are right - teach people how to tell which hand is which, In ONE TO FOUR MINUTES. These are severely dyslexic people, who have NEVER been able to tell their right hand from their left, through ages 11 to 21. Sound impossible? It's real. I travel to you, unless you'd rather meet somewhere central, like a local library. So much of what you pay goes to car expense. To balance costs, I use longer tutoring sessions of 1 to 2 hours per session, and fewer sessions, when possible. When you can't sit that long, we take short breaks and / or have shorter sessions anyway.
