The technicians arrived on time (and on a Sunday!) and were very personable. They determined that my printer was not worth repairing due to its age and the fact that the cost to repair it would be more than it would cost to simply replace it. I am very grateful for their diagnosis and advice...and, of course, their honesty! I will certainly call on them again if/when I have a tech issue and will recommend them to others.

Mike was the absolute best person to repair my laptop hinge. He's extremely professional, friendly, and shared the entire process with me. He sent me a quote before getting my permission to begin, and the price was the same when he was finished with the repair. Mike even picked up and dropped off my laptop so I did not have to leave my home. I highly recommend him and would go back to him for any computer issue in a heartbeat.

I cracked my laptop screen and messed up my display, and upon inquiry, I found that the manufacturers would take a good amount of time and money to repair my device. Matthew offered me a repair at a great price and respected my need for a speedy fix, and was very cooperative and easy to work with throughout the entire process. His service is an excellent choice that I would recommend to anyone.

Mr. Ronald is a very professional and patient technician with certified expertise. He solved my Alienware's tricky issue for only $75 and I believe that was a pretty reasonable price since most of the computer repair stores inclined to replace my troubling parts rather than 'fix' them and asked for more than $200 for repairing. I will definitely recommend him to my friends.

Scott was professional, fun, and explained what the problem was in terms I could understand. I've used him for a variety of services from internet issues, computer malfunctions, as well as replacing iPhone screens. He also gave me helpful tips to try and solve reoccurring problems on my own. He pays attention to detail and does a thorough job in a timely manner. I would totally use him again and recommend him to a friend.

Several years ago I needed to upgrade my residential desktop computer. Someone suggested DJNM Technologies in Taunton, MA as a sales and repair resource. Talking with the company President, Mike Washburn, I learned he also designs and builds custom desktop computers. We discussed my present and future use-needs and he gave me an informal estimate. He was competitive with most high-end residential systems. Then I got a written estimate and was quite satisfied with his fair price. Mike is professional and enthusiastic. He speaks in practical layman's terms when describing new-system performance and expectations, as well as problems with older systems, like the one he replaced for me. In my residential system, we expanded from one to two desktops, included a wi-fi router, a multi-function printer/scanner, and wi-fi internet access for visitors with their own laptops and tablets. DJNM Technologies is not only into custom desktops, they're into high performance laptops as well. Mike is good at problem-solving and innovative system configurations, fitting my personal needs well. He's timely in his on-site maintenance and repair visits, and creative in his on-line, 24/7 remote service. He's customer-driven. As a long-retired R&D scientist, I appreciate Mike's leading-edge technology approach to computer-system problem-solving.

Computer TroubleSolvers is a great place to bring your laptop for repairs. My screen was broken and it was fixed within a week within a resonable time frame and the price was acceptable. I would definitely tell people about him.

    About

I provide computer virus removal and hardware, software and basic tech support. I can do some basic support remotely while on the phone with you, or I can go to you. Due to the fact that I do not have a car, I cannot go very far 3 miles maximum, but if you are willing to travel to drop off your computer along with a note of the symptoms that you are having on the computer with your full name and phone number, I can get working on your issues immediately and give you a call/voice message or text if you prefer that method as well. It can range from a lot of issues, and we can talk about the pricing depending on how severe your issue is whether it is only a software issue or a hardware issue which I would need to order specific parts online. It can be a bit expensive, but it will always beat the price of the bigger company's such as your manufacturer or any other local repair shop. I can replace screens on laptops, hard drives, keyboards, batteries, power supplies, and the list goes on. Also, I can do some repairs with phones, mostly iPhone, but you can always ask if I can assist in screen replacements and such other issues.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to fix an iPhone screen?

A broken iPhone screen doesn’t have to mean shelling out major money for a new phone. iPhone repair is an easy solution for a cracked or damaged iPhone screen that will have it looking as good as new in no time. The size of your iPhone will affect screen cost. Another factor that affects iPhone repair cost is whether you want to have your LCD repaired or replaced at the same time that you have your screen fixed. If you have AppleCare (Apple’s insurance), screen repair costs an additional $29 fee. Prices for Apple’s screen repair without AppleCare coverage vary based on your screen size. Here are some examples of average cost from less expensive third-party providers:

    • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $75, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone SE: $124.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 6: $99.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 6 Plus/6S: $125, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 7/7 Plus: $174.99, full screen replacement including the LCD and digitizer.
    • iPhone 4/4S: $70, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 5/5S/5C: $80, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone SE: $80, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6: $90, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $100, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6S: $110, glass and LCD repair.
    • iPhone 6S Plus: $130, glass and LCD repair.

How much does it cost to fix the Home button on an iPhone?

If the Home button on your iPhone has stopped working, it might be time for professional help. If your Home button problem is caused by a faulty product and you’re under warranty, the repair will be free. However, if you (or your dog who stepped on the phone) are the culprit, there will be a fee for repair. iPhone repair costs will vary depending on the model of your phone, who is providing the service, and whether your phone is under warranty or you have the extended warranty called AppleCare. If Apple repairs an iPhone that is out of warranty, the cost will be higher than from a third-party provider. One reason to consider paying more for repair by Apple is that using an outside service for repairs can sometimes void other Apple warranties that are in effect for your iPhone. Home button repair falls under Apple’s “other damage” repair pricing category, which costs a flat fee of $99 under AppleCare. If your phone is out of warranty, here are some of the average prices you can expect to pay to repair a Home button:

    • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
    • iPhone 8: $349.
    • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
    • iPhone 7: $319.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6s: $299.
    • iPhone 6: $299.
    • iPhone SE: $269.
    • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
    • iPhone 4s: $199.
    • iPhone 4: $149.
    • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.

How much is it to fix a water-damaged iPhone?

If your iPhone has been damaged by water, there’s still hope. It often costs less to repair an iPhone than to buy a new phone, and you can save your contacts, photos and other stored data. If you have AppleCare, the extended warranty provided by Apple, your coverage includes two incidents of accidental damage for repair at the rates listed below. Using a third-party provider can save you money; however, once an outside vendor has done work on your phone, your warranty may be voided and Apple may no longer provide service for your phone. Here are Apple’s charges for iPhone repair for water damage (classified as “other damage” on their website):

    • iPhone X: $549.
    • iPhone 8 Plus: $399.
    • iPhone 8: $349.
    • iPhone 7 Plus: $349.
    • iPhone 7: $319.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $329.
    • iPhone 6s: $299.
    • iPhone 6: $299.
    • iPhone SE: $269.
    • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $269.
    • iPhone 4s: $199.
    • iPhone 4: $149.
    • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G: $149.

How much does it cost to replace the screen on an iPhone 6?

An iPhone screen can crack fairly easily, so it’s always recommended to use a shock-absorbing case and a tempered glass screen protector to help keep your investment safe. Replacing the screen on your iPhone 6 will vary in price depending on which iPhone 6 model you have and who provides the repair. Third-party vendors provide lower-cost service than Apple for iPhone repair, unless you have Apple’s product insurance, AppleCare. Here are some examples of iPhone 6 screen and LCD average repair costs from third-party providers:

    • iPhone 6: $90.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $100.
    • iPhone 6S: $110.
    • iPhone 6S Plus: $130.

You may prefer to have your iPhone repaired by Apple. If you have AppleCare, your screen repair cost will be $29, but if you don’t have this coverage, iPhone repair will cost more from Apple than from a third-party vendor. Here are some examples of average iPhone screen repair cost when provided by Apple without AppleCare:

    • iPhone 6: $129.
    • iPhone 6 Plus: $149.
    • iPhone 6s: $149.
    • iPhone 6s Plus: $169.

The average national cost for an iPhone technician is $80-$100 per hour
