FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The service florists provide can be quite difficult to define in terms of flat rate pricing. The major factors that create a pricing quote that can chage the price in drastic measures are types and quantities of flowers, amount of onsite set up and staff needed to complete and nuber of delivery locations and milage traveled between stops. Many clients are faced with the difficulty of getting quotes from different florists and not being able to compare apples to apples. Most florists figure your quote by calculating the standard markup on flowers and labor percentage for that work, the onsite set up is usually figured at an hourly rate times the amount of each staff member needed to complete setup in the time allowed by the venue and delivery is usually either calculated by milage or houly rate . Every florist is unique in their amounts depending on their business, experience and talant. Just remember, your lowest quote might not be your best value in terms of professional design and quality workmanship...There is no real way to compare apples to apples in the floral industry because so much of what you see lies in the ability of the actual designer making the final product.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My strongest advice is to pick a floral provider that you trust and can create a repore with and that isn't afraid to show you examples of what they do. You really want to make sure that your style can be felt by your florist and that you have some sort of chemistry that makes it personal for them and not just another job.
