Kathy was instrumental in helping our Senior HS daughter with key test-taking skills so that she could better her ACT testing results. Although she's an excellent student, our daughter finds college testing a challenge in areas such as science and reading. Together, they came up with a weekly strategy. They went over the incorrect answers to practice tests to find patterns and trigger words so they could identify problem sources. As importantly, Kathy encouraged our daughter and gave her the confidence and tools she needed to use the time wisely during these tests without getting anxious. She also made her accountable for studying during the summer - that's invaluable! We've very much enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to other students who might be challenged with ACT testing!
Ryan helped my son with SAT preparation. He is knowledgeable, professional and on time every class. My son did very well on his test. I highly recommend him to any student seeking professional help.
Quantum Prep was excellent. My daughter had decent SAT scores but wanted to try to raise them. After a few sessions with her tutor, she could see that it was helping. She just received her scores and we are thrilled. Quantum Prep was worth every penny. _Austin Prep parent (Reading, MA.)
I met John using thumbtack and I received his Resume and spoke to him on the phone. My daughter was in serious need of help in math and it was behind a couple years with some things! She never received a higher grade then a 70 something on any of her math test. We met with John during the summer, once a week, she returned to school and received the highest grade in the class On her first test, I couldn't be more pleased with John! My daughter adores John and he's extremely easy for her to talk to and answers any of her questions through email!! He's very reliable and prompt and I can guarantee your child will succeed tremendously with his help!! Thanks John
PrepScholar is by far the best SAT prep program available, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to dramatically increase their test score! As a freshman, I self-studied for the SAT by taking every single practice test in the College Board's infamous "Official SAT Study Guide," going through other prep books (I used Dr. Steve Warner's SAT Math prep books and barely used Erica Meltzer's Critical Reading Guide), and reading test-prep tips from the so-called "SAT experts" on College Confidential. Despite all of this, I found that my scores on the practice tests kept fluctuating; for instance, on one test I scored a 2170 and on the next I dropped to a 1980. So, when I took my real, official SAT, my confidence was shot and ended up scoring a 2000- a respectable score, but not up to my standard. This experience left me depressed about preparing for the SAT,and I almost lost confidence about raising my score up altogether. Luckily, while in my sophomore year, one of my friends told me about how he used PrepScholar and was able to significantly raise his test scores from it. The next day, I told my parents about PrepScholar, and they agreed to pay and sign me up for the program. PrepScholar was worth every penny! In just over a month, I was able to increase my score to a 2220 (a 220 point improvement!) through the aid of PrepScholar and its incredibly helpful founder, Allen Cheng. PrepScholar did an outstanding job of helping me identify my weaknesses and improve upon my strengths. Most importantly, it showed me how to effectively prepare for and approach the SAT, and with the skills PrepScholar has taught me, I'm sure I still can further improve my score. Also, Mr. Cheng was incredibly helpful, quickly replying to the many questions about the SAT I had. I'm incredibly grateful for all that Allen Cheng and PrepScholar have done for me. PrepScholar is outstanding, and I recommend this program to anyone willing to put in the hard work to raise their score.
This program is exactly what I would have needed when I took the GMAT. The challenge with the GMAT is its adaptivity to your skill level. Therefore, a traditional prep book from the library or bookstore will inadequately prepare advanced test takers with enough difficult questions to be ready for the test. The customization of this program is perfect for the design of the GMAT. And the guarantee from PrepScholar is pretty impressive. No-brainer for anyone serious about applying to business school!
He is AWESOME!!!!! I would highly recommend. I was in an accelerated math class, with little math knowledge and he made is easy to understand and follow. Great tutor!!!
Excellent! If I have time, I sit in on tutoring sessions. My son is always engaged. It has been a transformation for him. It shows in his grades - A on his most recent two tests. Thank you Professor Holton!
Very accessible scheduling wise. Great explanations and approach to coaching, was really a great fit for me (working through the problems and analyzing why I made the wrong choice along with what makes the right one right) Wonderful advice and insight for the whole college and testing experience: what books to buy, tests to take, etc. Overall great person, great teacher, great experience, great results!!
Lisa is one of the best writing tutors that I have ever had. She is smart, kind, and believes in every single one of her students. I first started working with Lisa to prep for the ACT. She always believed in me and encouraged me to keep working towards my goals. After getting through the ACT, Lisa helped me with my college application and supplemental essays. She helped me to get my vision into solidified and ideas. She has a hyper focus on making sure that her students voice is heard. Her respect and confidence in me is what made me believe in myself and my work.
we highly recommend Anthony to tutor your child their college prep needs. he is very knowledgeable with SAT OR ACT and college application process.
Club Z has been nothing but amazing to me. The whole experience, from the enrollment to the actual tutoring, has been nothing short of fantastic. The company is very professional, friendly, and accommodative, and you immediately get a sense that the tutors really want to see you succeed. With the actual tutoring I've achieved fabulous results, raising my test scores a substantial amount. Tutors are very friendly, making tutoring and communicating easy and stress free. I highly recommend Club Z to anyone in search of any kind of tutor. I have no doubt that club Z will match you up with the perfect tutor for your needs.
Linda has tutored two of my sons over the last five years. My older son was able to improve his SAT scores as well as perfect his college application essay. He got into his first college choice. My younger son had problems expressing himself in writing and started working with Linda in 8th grade. Later he studied with Linda for ACT and got into his first college choice. Overall I was impressed with Linda's professionalism, great energy and great rapport with kids. They loved studying with her. In addition I could always rely on Linda being up to date on latest changes in SAT/ACT tests, which was tremendously helpful last year. We all feel very fortunate to have Linda as our ' Language Coach'.
Ron is a deeply knowledgeable, professional, and polite tutor. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about hiring and meeting a private tutor, without the expensive brand guarantee of a full-service center, but Ron's friendly demeanor quickly put me at ease and assured me I had made the right choice. Additionally, he was both on time with materials in hand and ready to work as planned, as well as, flexible, accommodating, and understanding if my busy schedule required sudden change. Last, but definitely not least, his breadth of knowledge was particularly useful in helping me prepare for the SAT, as the test covers a wide range of mathematical concepts. All of which is why I would highly recommend Ron to anyone seeking help! Thanks again, Ron.
Clare has been my math tutor for a year. She has given me the confidence to not be afraid that I will fail at my tests and also help me understand my homework. Plus we have fun! She gives me other web sites that I use to practice math. I like that we can Skype because she can answer my calls whenever I need her help.
Gold Test Prep not only strengthened my skills but my confidence in test taking. They made preparing for the GMAT manageable and convenient. I have a job so the option to study with a tutor at a library or via Skype was a huge plus. My tutor was encouraging, helping me to set realistic goals and reach them within a limited time period. I saw considerable growth with my GMAT score from the practice exams to the extent that I only needed to take the test once. Can't thank Gold Test Prep enough, at the end of the day they produce results.
Great help with my sat prep. Very knowledgeable and will see results.
I've been out of college for nearly ten years, out of basic math/algebra for...lets just say...longer than that. With my recent decision to go back to school to become an RN, I had to take a math placement test. This worried me because I am notoriously bad at math, and had to take several remedial courses my first time around in college. This time, I was determined to avoid that, I did not want to spend extra time or money on math classes that I wouldn't enjoy! I went from knowing nothing to knowing everything I would need to test into the math requirement for my nursing program, and I couldn't have done it without Erika! (Seriously, every damn question on that test I thought to myself, THANK GOD FOR ERIKA). I had three valuable tutoring sessions with her. She is calm, easy-going, and fun to talk to (someone who I have fun talking about math with, what?!). At the same time she is concise, to the point, and encourages you to solve problems until she can tell that you are really "getting it." If I need further tutoring in math or science during my program, I have every intention of reaching out to Erika, and I would recommend her to anyone!
Lexie helped my son Connor (who has dyslexia) study for high school homework, tests and especially the SAT! We came to love her and thank her for all she did. Connor is now in college and making deans list.
There are a number of things I do that stand out. First, I'm not out to make a big profit from this. You get the amount of service you need, and meet the goals that are realistic, at a reasonable price. There is nobody, and I do mean NOBODY! who can teach some learning disabled kids better, faster, and to the best of their abilities than I can. I have recommendations from professional peers, a recent supervisor, and parents that will tell you that, time and time again. I can - when conditions are right - teach people how to tell which hand is which, In ONE TO FOUR MINUTES. These are severely dyslexic people, who have NEVER been able to tell their right hand from their left, through ages 11 to 21. Sound impossible? It's real. I travel to you, unless you'd rather meet somewhere central, like a local library. So much of what you pay goes to car expense. To balance costs, I use longer tutoring sessions of 1 to 2 hours per session, and fewer sessions, when possible. When you can't sit that long, we take short breaks and / or have shorter sessions anyway.
All of our tutors have at least a M.A. degree and experience teaching and tutoring. We work on a pay-as-you go basis which means that you only pay for the sessions your child uses.
