My middle school daughter has been studying with Donny for about three years and loves every minute of it. She began as a vocal student, with Donny expertly cultivating her range and interests. They focus on what she wants to do, unlike many teachers who force the child through a set routine. So he has adapted the lessons to her in a creative and fresh, yet still rigorous way. Recently, my daughter began piano with him and again, Donny responded to her needs - introducing whole notes and songs that she can dive into. His approach is organic and child-centered, and spot on. If only all learning could be so much fun!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a standard hourly rate for music lessons, and I schedule lessons in 30, 45 or 60-minute lengths.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I often meet with students and their families for an introductory meeting, where students can get to know more about me and I can learn more about the student's goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and graduate studies in classical composition at Longy Conservatory of Bard College in Cambridge. I am a Suzuki certified piano instructor, and I hold a general and instrumental music teaching license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. I studied piano with Bob Winter, the pianist of the Boston Pops Orchestra. I am a former Newton Public Schools music educator.
