Mike is awesome. Our rescue dog has leash aggression towards dogs and people in our neighborhood and after just 2 sessions with him there’s been a big improvement. He’s walked with us through the neighborhood and called on volunteers (humans and dogs!) to demonstrate how we can better handle the situation and take control. One thing I really love is that he brings his dog Finnegan with. This allows our dog to learn from him, and it’s guaranteed socialization during the entire session. We’ve worked with other trainers in the past who mostly taught avoidance techniques, but we didn’t feel that was solving the root issue, which is our dog’s anxiety from lack of socialization. Mike takes a more holistic approach and his style really works for us. Highly recommend!!Jan 17, 2019VerifiedLiberty Pet Coach, Dog Training and Animal Reiki's reply
Thank you for the Great compliment I appreciate it very much
Mike got our dog off to a great start in her new home. She came from a shelter so had a lot of anxiety, and was great with people but doesn't do well with other animals. Mike is very knowledgeable, worked with the whole family, responded quickly to our questions and concerns, and put us on the right track- Plus, his 'helpers' Molly and Finnegan are some of the best dog trainers around!Sep 17, 2017VerifiedLiberty Pet Coach, Dog Training and Animal Reiki's reply

Thank you very much I appreciate the reference anytime if you need anything just ask.
Mike Liberty is a great dog trainer and coach. Our anxious, bark-y Sheltie has calmed down in just two weeks. Mike also was able to pinpoint areas of joint inflammation and provided relief for the dog with Reiki treatments. Highly recommended.Dec 5, 2016VerifiedLiberty Pet Coach, Dog Training and Animal Reiki's reply

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Getting to know the pet owner and the pet's problem is the first step. Then I work one on one with the pet and pet owner on correct methods and preventative strategies. I don't push people into things or try to sell them products they don't need. I am flexible and focused on helping them through my skills and experience in dog training and reiki.

- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take? One recent client contacted me to help with their dog who barked all the time. At my first visit to the home, I realized immediately that the dog needed to be socialized as it was not only barking excessively but was running behind people. The pet owners and I sat together to discuss a typical day for the dog. The owners were only letting the dog out to go pee or poop. They were reluctant to take the dog for walks because of its barking. This had created a situation where not only was the dog barking due to lack of exercise and socialization but I also suspected had become fearful of things other people, dogs and unknown situations. The first thing we did was get the dog outside with the owners and get the dog tired. Using a leash, we ran the dog for about 15 minutes. Then I encouraged us to take the dog for a walk around the neighborhood. The owners were worried about disturbing neighbors with barking but I reassured them that was what we needed to do. The dog was very afraid at first and yes, he barked. However, he started to gain confidence. We walked him a mile and when he got home, he slept. At the next session, our goal was to help the dog with its fearfulness, which would address barking issues. I brought along my own dog Finnegan who is a certified therapy dog. The clients dog was barking out of control as suspected but soon calmed down with Finn and they played together. It was a big step and the owner was quite happy. Later sessions with this pet have involved reiki to reduce anxiety as well as socialization with other dogs. The owners are pleased with how their dog is progressing.
