- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been employed as an Executive Assistant to a Chief Perfumer at a small fragrance company close to New York City, NY. My position here involved lab work that was more closely related to my experience within the Biology field. My primary duties however involved managing the laboratory staff, meeting with customers on a daily basis, and most importantly creating exciting and new-fangled ideas with our Production Team, as per customer requests, for an accompanying marketing strategy involving these fragrance products. My interest & knowledge in the history & distillation of spirits, wine, & beer was beneficial in that it helped in building a business strategy for BeerNerds. It also allowed me to assume the lead in educating and training staff members about the programs that I had implemented. This furthered my understanding and knowledge in practicing the best ways to teach to a multitude of personalities. In addition, in regards to driving profitability and educational development, I learned how to keep staff motivated and excited about their new job. Working as a consultant required a great amount of market research concerning consumer behaviors, financial factors, current & future trends etc. in order to implement a successful restaurant program and sales strategy. This experience allowed me to delve deeper into the practical application of psychological research methods and tools that I had learned about in college. These included recruiting techniques, organizational development, data collection & analysis, and various other topics that involve the use of psychology within a business environment.
