- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be prepared to fill out forms! Massage sessions do come with a bit of paperwork pertaining to the clients health and medical history. (Especially when dealing with new clients or oncology patients) Do Not Rush through these forms! Anything from something seemingly simple like experiencing TMJ or Frozen shoulder to domething as serious as diabetes, or becoming pregnant, to whether you have fibromyalgia should be taken into account and written down.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The advice I give to my clients as a massage therapist is; keep in mind the amount of space available in ones home before booking a session. I can't tell you how many times new clients insist on having an in-home massage but don't consider the space that my table would take up. -Ask your professional exactly how much space they would need to set up equipment. If you're booking more of a sports massage for pain or maintenance where bodywork is a bit more involved than a deep tissue or classic swedish, I always encourage my clients to ask themselves: -What results am I (client) expecting to have after my treatment? -What results am I (client) expecting after two treatments? after a month of treatment, and so forth. -Do I want to relax during sessions or do I have a performance goal in mind?
