To whom it my concern:
I had the great fortune of a serendipitous introduction to Ms. Iafrate during a marketing program to develop an outreach campaign. We had a simple phone call exchange. I hung up I said to myself “either that woman is a direct descendant of PT Barnum or I just got off the phone with one of the most authentic, sincere and dynamic women that ever came across the bow of Grab The Torch” I was so impressed, and to a certain degree intrigued and curious to meet her, I scheduled a lunch. I was delighted that it was the latter. After lunch, I knew she would be invited to speak at our 2016 Boston Institute.
As the founder of a Leadership, Ethics, Empathy and Philanthropy Institute every speaker and panelist that I select must fit perfectly with our mission, so you can imagine how careful I am in the process. This was a very good decision.
Ms. Iafrate was the final speaker of the day. She followed The John Hancock/Boston Marathon and WGBH/William Lowell of the Lowell Institute. The pervious speakers delivered great content, but it had been a very long day for the girls. She had been sitting in the audience surveying and getting a pulse of the day, along with the ‘temperature’ of the girls. Even the most seasoned and professional speakers find that time of day, combined with being a first-time presenter a tough and intimidating time slot.
She walked on stage and in an almost unimaginable way, immediately flipped a switch unleashing excitement and engagement in a thoughtful and meaningful way. She was prepared and ready to provide a launching pad for the girls. The presentation moved along at a pace that stimulated reflection and participation, without losing them for a second. She drew them in, opened their minds to new ideas and processes. She gave them a clearer lens to view themselves and others around them. She then turned the tables and unleased them. The room was abuzz with laughter and excitement, accompanied by a purposeful call to action. The execution was flawless.
I, without any reservation or hesitation wholeheartedly recommend and endorse Ms. Iafrate. I think the following statements directly from the girls are more powerful than anything I could ever say.
“The way Ms. Iafrate connected with us and spoke to us like equals made me truly want to absorb everything she said. Her ability to successfully communicate her tips in a succinct and sometimes humorous manner is what makes her unforgettable. Forever leaning in”
“I never thought two words (lean in) would ever have such a profound impact on me. It wasn’t the phrase, but how it was delivered to me. Ms. Iafrate open the door to a new and enlighten way to lead my life. My favorite speaker of the week at GTT”
