Steve did a great job on my project, under what were really trying circumstances. I had three different contractors working at the same time, and Steve came in, worked around everything that was happening (without complaint) and did outstanding work. I will definitely use him on future projects.
Joe and his assistant Frank did a great job on replacing two window casings and sills at my mom's home. They arrived on time as well, which I find isn't always the case with contractors. When it came time to reinstall the storm windows they ran into a technicality but they knew how to troubleshoot the issue in order to make the correction. I think anyone who hires Joe & Frank to do carpentry work will be 100% satisfied!
The work of Royal Contracting is excellent. The attention to detail has taken what we felt was a hopelessly ice damaged house and turned it into an exciting "like new" living quarters. In addition to the attention to detail re: construction, he (Dermot McElligott) is super conscientious about getting in and getting out with minimal inconvenience to the home owner. You should have no qualms about hiring Royal Contracting for any construction you are considering. Additionally, his subcontractors were excellent workers and he makes certain that they provide quality and timely service. JohnBlumenstiel, Sharon, MA.
Sam's Masonry removed an old gas fireplace vent and ground out and filled in the missing bricks. The new bricks matched nicely and the mortar was neat and clean. They came back to acid wash the mortar. The work area was kept very clean and no debris was left behind. As a contractor, cleanliness and reliability of subcontractors is a huge worry for me. Sam's Masonry performed well in this areas.
Many of us have heard the phrase "buyer beware." I've had a few bad experiences with less than scrupulous contractors so I had some trepidation going into this. However, after speaking with Virgil and noting that it was HE who was following up on my calls, texting me back almost immediately, etc., I realized he exhibited a high degree of professionalism and a great customer care attitude. Virgil went out of his way to explain various options on how he could built my deck. He suggested I go on line to see pictures of his many projects; which I did. I could see he took a lot of pride in his work. I was impressed with Virgil when I met him in person. Our conversation revolved around my needs and wants with regard to the project and not his! He focused on providing me with cost-saving option while still providing me with a spectrum of options from economy to high end; with an emphasize on cost-saving alternatives. Virgil built us a 12 X 22 upper deck with stairs leading to a lower Cape-Cod style rail-less 16x 20 lower deck. I told Virgil my biggest pet peeve is unreliable people; of which he is not. He and his crew showed up at the work site when he said they would. Virgil followed through on everything he said he would do. He always kept me advised on the progress and issues of the project and went up and beyond my expectations! Any minor issues were immediately dealt with and he updated me on any changes ( I.e., opting for a lesser expensive beam as the larger one wasn't needed per code and was more money). He didn't have to do this but he did! In closing, I will recommend Virgil to friends and family; and already have! He takes great pride in his work and his number one priority is making sure you're happy with the results! I've already considered other projects I'd like him to undertake. I hope he can find the time. If you're looking for the real-deal, professional, highly-skilled, courteous, honest, and reliable contractor who puts the customer FIRST, Virgil Miranda is your guy! T. I had a growing "honey-do" list of things around the house that I just could NOT accomplish on my own. "Thumb-tack"put me in touch w Steve Deagle, the No.1 handyman- Contractor listed w them; serving the Quincy area.... Steve is young, energetic and a fine craftsman. His goal is to get the work done, in a timely fashion, and have the finished product look very professional. He Certainly accomplished that and then some, at my home. I was very pleased w his work and as I get unpacked and decide where I want to put my pictures, paintings, wall clocks, Et other heavy decor; put up the curtain rods, etc...... You can bet, I'm going to ask for Steve Deagle.
Eduardo is very knowledgeable, detail oriented, and trustworthy. He will make sure the project gets done right. We had an extensive remodel project and interviewed a number of contractors before deciding on Boston Best Construction. Their team did an amazing job, not just with the basics, but even doing a full custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelf build, a custom recessed projection screen, etc. Would highly recommend.
Let me be upfront: I do not write a review unless I really feel comfortable about someone's services, since I know others may rely on my word here. But I have no hesitation to recommend Julio to any of my friends for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, this guy is honest. He lives up to his word, and does what he promises. Second, he is extremely handy and capable. I called him for a window frame and door threshold repair, but ended up getting help from him around the house for at least 5-6 other tasks/projects. He not only didn't make it an issue, but did an awesome job in all of them. At one point when I was adding all these tasks on top of another I joked to him saying "is there anything that you cannot do?". It turns out he worked with contractors before, and had experience in quite a number of areas. He is still humble, cooperative, and very very fast too. Never complained to me about me adding all these things, and finally, the price he charged me was fair and very reasonable. I saved his number and will call him anytime I need help with something. I am glad I found him here, and I recommend anyone to give Julio's services a try. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Dominick did a fantastic job!!! He committed to a quick completion time, competitive price and high quality standard. I am happy to say he delivered on all three! I will definitely hire him in the future and refer him to friends/family.
It was a pleasure working with Rich. He tackled a large job with a lot of moving parts with talent, enthusiasm, and professionalism. From framing to finished carpentry, Rich possesses a wide skill set and great expertise, and also managed a number of subcontractors and vendors, making our project all the more streamlined. Would absolutely hire again!
I found myself in a difficult situation and needed a plan, guidance and direction with renovating my multi-family home to house myself and extended family. Top Quality Remodeling delivered! We've been living with the renovations that were completed 4 years ago and still, to this day, I find myself admiring my home, feeling very comfortable, and enjoying how my small but extremely functional living space suits me and my family. I couldn't be happier. The design was changed dramatically according to my wish list and even more important, Vill kept me within my budget. It's very easy to get carried away but he was the solid ground throughout the process. The job, expenses, subcontractors, materials, workmanship and attitudes were all kept in line and monitored carefully by Top Quality. I felt supported and listened to throughout the entire process. Oh, and the pesky wooden countertop that revealed a defect months later, was replaced immediately and without any issue. Excellent service from beginning to end, standing by their work after the job was long completed and all with calm, respectful, genuine concern for the customer. Very satisfied with Top Quality Remodeling and I would recommend them to everyone!
Jeff built a closet around our water softener and radon mitigation system. He was great through the whole process. He was easy to communicate with (by phone or text), guided us on the different products to choose from, and was very fairly priced. He was efficient, clean and his work was exceptional. The subcontractors that he hired out were all top notch. It was clear from the beginning that Jeff wanted us to be happy with every step of the process. We will definitely hire him again in the future.
Drywall basement, skim coat ceiling, paint. Josemar is very soft spoken and his rates are very reasonable. We had some issues which he worked out and in the end he did a good job.
Joey was fantastic to work with. He was able to get my porch done in the same week I put out the request. I also appreciated his transparent quote. He provided me with both an estimate for labor and supplies, unlike most contractors who will just give give you a single all-in quote.
Quick and thorough, both in the work and communication about changes or questions. Super polite and obviously takes pride in the work he does. Appreciated that he didn't farm the job to subcontractors and fit it in to accomodate my schedule. Really reasonable rates and comprehensive services.
Bill Brophy and crew were polite, professional and highly dependable. During the proposal process, his communications were respectful and timely. The proposal was thorough; and all of the work was completed in accordance with the written agreement. The work crew showed up on the job site [my home in Easton] precisely as scheduled; and diligently worked throughout the day. I can affirm that Bill Brophy is a man of his word; and his business, HomeKore Mfg Co of MA is a trustworthy firm. In addition to receiving compliments from my neighbors on the finished project; I am exceptionally pleased with the work that was done. And having the sense that I was dealing with a highly reliable contractor made it a stress-free experience for me.
Brian repainted about half of the interior of my house, and he did a great job. He clearly communicated with us, as well as his subcontractors, and he personally made sure we were happy with everything. He also redid our kitchen backsplash and it looks great!
It was great to have Roger Martin update my kitchen, master bath, and fireplace. Roger and his subcontractors brought all three project in on time, within a very reasonable budget, and with careful attention to every detail. Roger is creative and has a sharp eye - he contributed some of the most successful elements of the design. Two examples: he suggested installing a copper-toned steel backplate behind the stainless range that not only works well but also visually ties together the granite countertop and cabinets. He also recommended the vertical columns of glass tiles that line the shower, adding elegance and pop. Roger was terrific to work with: punctual, tireless, and happy to collaborate. His easygoing manner, flexibility, and long experience greatly reduced the stress typical of a renovation and helped a lot as we encountered the usual unforeseeable issues - in this case, shortcuts and inferior materials in some of the original workmanship. He is also scrupulously honest and fair, and often went the extra mile to get things right even when it wasn't in the original budget. By the end, I felt I had a friend at work, with nothing but my best interests at heart. And the results speak for themselves! Highly recommended...
We worked with Mike on two projects a few years apart. The first was a renovation of our finished basement. We had water damage due to severe winter storm. Mike installed a subfloor and then laminate on top to protect the floor from any further water issues should they arise. He also redid the ceiling and encased 2 poles with columns and built a beautiful bookcase between the new columns. A few years later, we worked with Mike on a renovation on our 2nd floor. Mike added a room above our garage (in which we put a walk in closet). He also renovated our master bath and added another bathroom as well as reconfigured space throughout the second floor. We have been very pleased with the quality of work done on both projects. We found Mike to always be responsive—he called back promptly to discuss any questions we had. Mike started the work when he said he would and kept the projects going to the best of his ability, even when materials did not arrive on time (not his fault) and was present when we needed him. Mike always made very good suggestions—particularly in ways to cut costs. This we appreciated very much! Mike was good to work with, helpful, responsive and the quality of the work was very good! We were also pleased with the subcontractors that worked with Mike, who were helpful and responsive as well. Liz
Contacted him on Saturday. Looking for several small jobs ( hanging TVs on the wall, installing a closet door). Ryan was punctual, pleasant and very efficient. We will have him back for other projects soon!
Stephen E I hired Peter Tise and the crew at THB to rehab a two family stucco house in Newton that was in very rough shape. They installed new footings in the basement, added engineered lumber to accommodate two new roof dormers and an open floor plan on the 2nd floor. They removed and relocated all the stairways inside. They rebuilt and upgraded the two story deck in the front, Added sliding glass doors in the dining room, both on the 1st and 2nd floor, that lead to a new 2 story deck in the back of the house. The work list goes on and on. Would I be reluctant take on a project of this size again? I might be, but I wouldn't be reluctant to hire Pete and the crew at THB. Pete does great carpentry work and he was instrumental in overseeing and managing subcontractors. Absolutely, two thumbs up for Pete and the crew at THB.
We chose Ken with Goodwin Renovations to finish our basement because of his reputation and his competitive bid which included details of everything we'd asked for in the design. We have to say we are thrilled with the results. He stayed on budget, was there when we expected him, kept the workspace clean and was willing to work with us if we decided to add other last minute changes to the space. We trusted him and his crew to be in the house unsupervised knowing everything would be fine. He used reputable subcontractors, was there to oversee them and did excellent finish work himself. We highly recommend Ken and Goodwin Renovations!
Wildwood carpentry is a top notch company. He was on time every day. Worked around our schedule. The jobsite was clean and picked up each day. The work looks great. Worked great with other subcontractors. Job ran very smoothly , on schedule , on budget.
Michael provided us with a vision and execution for our gut remodel kitchen that was a wonderful and functional design. He listened to our needs and worked within our budget objectives to turn out a fabulous kitchen at a reasonable cost. He found interesting design elements that allowed us to put our personal stamp on the project. He took care of all of the details and oversaw all aspects of the construction acting as the GC making sure all of the subcontractors and suppliers were managed.
We waited nearly a year for a different contractor who had been referred to us for this job. After repeated assurances he'd be starting soon we finally gave up and started a new search. We received bids from several contractors, then went with Kip Schultz / Modern Habitat, and now we are so glad things worked out the way they did. We were desperate to get the job done in a ridiculously short amount of time since we had expected to be done months earlier with the original contractor and had already invited a bunch of people for Thanksgiving. Kip started the job very shortly after we signed on, promised to have the space operational for the holiday and completely delivered on quality, workmanship and price. He was in constant contact with us either in person, via email or by phone/text. We were immediately informed of surprises/snags along the way and were given plenty of options for things such as carpentry, insulation and electrical including surround sound. Kip offered creative solutions to a couple of challenges we faced such as "hiding" the circuit breaker box in the wall while keeping it fully accessible and providing under-stair storage. Carpentry work for shelving and rebuilding the staircase was carefully planned and executed, and we are so pleased with the finished custom look. Along the way we added a couple of features and each time Kip was quick to provide a quote, determine if additional permits were required, line up subcontractors as needed and ensure that we were fully onboard with the work. In the end we were able to use the room fully on Thanksgiving, and the guys came back the following week to finish up little details. As far as professionalism and reliability are concerned, the team showed up when they said they would every time without exception; they left the work area spotless at the end of each day; they took care when working in areas where we had all our stuff stashed during construction and they were very sweet to and tolerant of our exuberant dogs. A couple before/after photos included.
Rich was very friendly, communicative, easy to work with. We had an excess of landscaping from previous owners and needed to convert it to plain lawn. Rich's crew came several days later than estimated, but still reasonably soon. He sent a stump grinder to remove 2 large stumps, then a bobcat came to dig everything up and haul away. Following that, he put in a few inches of loam, then his crew spread seed and lightly raked it in. Several thousand sq ft of lawn was done in about 3-4 hours. All done at a very reasonable price compared with other bids I entertained. And despite my grave doubts, some very hardy perennials did not grow back in large numbers after the bobcat scraped their tops off. I was quite skeptical that simply taking the top off perennials would kill them. Of course, repeated lawn mowing finished off whatever attempted to grow back. Here are some areas of improvement: 1. I believe the proper procedure after raking in the grass seed is to go over it with a roller, so the soil is somewhat compacted. Rich's crew did not do that and the next rainstorm washed quite a bit of the topsoil and seeds away. In fact, the loam was so soft any adult footstep on it left a deep imprint. 2. The loam was FULL of crabgrass seeds. First the regular lawn seeds sprouted, then the crabgrass took over. Next year I'll have to do aggressive crabgrass prevention. 3. It would have been nice to receive a followup phone call or even better, on-site inspection from Rich. That might have earned him additional business.
