Jeff Watson and associates did a good job enlarging our deck. It was well built, contracted materials were used and he kept to the contracted budget. Although we gave Jeff the flexibility to work on his time schedule, he often delayed each part of the project and finished the project well after our expected end date. He needed to be called, emailed and/or texted often just to keep the project going. Initially he made a mistake with the size but made good on his promise and reworked the frame to meet the contracted size. There were various excuses to delay the project. In the end we were happy with the result but not with the constant chasing down.Jan 11, 2017VerifiedJeff W.'s reply
Hi guys, I clearly discussed the fact that I was extremely busy and would try very hard to complete the deck in October,I did keep in constant contact with you regarding progress and problems, the deck was completed about a week late, not unreasonable considering the circumstances, as you know material was delivered to the wrong address by the lumberyard, also the decking was not in stock and had to be ordered and that caused some delay, weather was also a factor. I appreciate the positive factors in your review.
Jeff and his team recently completed a project of repairing extensive damage to the sill infrastructure in front of my house. They also replaced clapboards and installed a new front door. I am very happy with the quality of the work done. His team arrived when they said they would and kept a clean work area. I fully intend to call on Jeff on any future home carpentry projects that I might have. Thanks Jeff.Oct 6, 2017Verified
by not doubling labor charges- on site for 2 hours charged for 31/2 hours, 1/2 half hour of which was spent while 2 helpers ate lunch at 2pm and Jeff was buying supplies for which he charged triple the costOct 5, 2017Jeff W.'s reply
I'm sorry but this is clearly NOT the way we work, if you have question about charges I would be more than happy to review them, if there is a mistake on our part we certainly would want to correct that, we want all our customers to be happy, when we charge by time & materials we always give an estimate of what the charges could be, also if you need receipts with the time they were purchased with the date and your job name on them, please let us know, every purchase requires a customers name on the slip, i'm not sure where you are getting the pricing, we would and do not charge triple for material, EVER, as a matter of fact we have a zero markup on them, only time to get them is charged. Please kindly allow me to correct any misunderstanding.
Jeff and his colleagues were competent in responding to some unexpected and complicated issues in repairing a large deck. Excellent problem solving and flexibility.Aug 13, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Experience and having a solid base of knowledge results in fair pricing without any surprise cost's, some jobs are very simple others are not, i am often sought out to do really "funky" unconventional projects that others will not do, that gives me great deal of satisfaction when i can help a customer that way.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Meet with my customer, find out what the needs and wants are, develop a plan and price, revise that as many times as needed to ensure the work is what the customer expects.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Recent 10 hour CSL course, attending trade shows each year, generally take part in manufacturer sponsored local shows I also constantly talk to and meet with suppliers and peers.
