Introduction: I train behavioral conditioning along with obedience. The reason that so many training programs fail is the emphasis on obedience over behavior. Obedience is what you tell a dog to do, behavior is what your dog chooses to do. I've had the "worst dog in the world", so I thought, but it was me. This experience has shaped how I transfer what I teach your dog, over to you. If you don't understand the tools, techniques and timing, you'll have a much harder time with your pup. I want you to succeed, so I take the time with you. Google K9 Reset for more reviews!

From our first introduction with Rich, I could see how passionate and well-informed he is, regarding dog-training. He made Willie and me quite at ease , while helping Willie get used to the pinch collar. He had him comfortable and complying, within a couple of minutes, after helping him through his initial apprehension. Rich was extremely patient and gentle, letting Willie know that he was in good hands . I immediately felt comfortable, after feeling quite anxious about leaving him with a total stranger. I was not successful, at home, getting him to get into a crate . Now , after his week with Rich, he has no problem with that and now seems to like his crate , sleeping through the night and fine with crating when I leave him for a couple of hours. I highly recommend K9 Reset to anyone who loves their pup !

I was looking for a dog trainer for 2 weeks of board and train for our puppy. I was contacted by Rich and am very happy that he did so. After an initial visit (which was free), we felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with him. Rich has a very calming demeanor and explains things very well. Our dog was very well trained for a 5 month dog. And we are quite happy with our experience. Would definitely do it again and probably will do a refresher course in the future.

K9 reset is the best! Before meeting Rich our Great Dane puppy was borderline un-walkable and loved to jump up on people and counters, post k9 reset our puppy listens to commands and stays walking by our side! Rich is a miracle worker!! 10/10 recommend.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I’d like to have a phone conversation to explain my process and pricing, and answer any questions. If after the phone call they want to move forward I have them set up an evaluation on my website to meet in person.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Owning my own business in the woodworking trade for over 32 years, has made me patient and calm, a problem solver and the ability to pay attention to small details, all relate to dog training. And finally working with an amazing professional dog trainer who mentored me.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I’ve been a dog owner my whole life, and always trained my own dogs, but when I had a family, a business and life in general, I didn’t have time to train my “my worst dog ever” I also didn’t understand why he was so bad. It wasn’t till I worked with a trainer 2 dogs later that I realized it was me and when I put the time in, and saw the results, I became addicted to training one thing led to another and before I knew it I was helping my trainer and then on my own.
