Introduction: I coach stressed-out busy people who have let unhealthy habits take a toll on their relationships, productivity, health, and happiness. My program teaches you how to be smart about your health and take care of yourself in a practical and sustainable way. I want you to wake up feeling happy about your body, energized for the day to come, and confident in your ability to show up for whatever life throws at you. With a Masters from Harvard in Mind, Brain & Education, all my work is embedded in scientific frameworks of learning and adult development combined with years of experience as a personal trainer and mindfulness instructor. I know how hard it is to change your habits and lifestyle. I'm here to give you the structure, support, and accountability to get you back on track.

Jeff is a truly life-changing trainer/coach. He deserves at least and 11 stars out of 5. I have always been reasonably fit, but working with Jeff has given me access to strength and energy reserves I never knew existed. I look forward to every workout with him, no matter how tired or stressed I might be in the rest of life. (And moreover, working with Jeff has led me to improve my life balance even far outside the gym(!).) Jeff is really, really smart. He has boundless knowledge and listens very carefully in order to develop ultra-individualized/customized training plans that match your personal goals. And he is "quick on his feet" -- both physically and metaphorically -- able to adjust the training program on a moment's notice to get the optimal effect. Beyond this, it's also just a pleasure to know and work with Jeff, in general. He is a truly warm and caring person. His positive energy is contagious, as is his love for all of life!

Background: Jeff is a life-saver. At 50 years of age, my weight was dangerously high and more blood pressure was borderline. Though I had been fit for the majority of my life, work got the best of me. As a result, in the course of two years of working too much, not working out enough, and eating thoughtlessly, I gained over 35 pounds. I became concerned that I was in real danger, as my father has died at age 65 of a heart attack due to high blood pressure. I did not want the same fate for me. So I found Jeff, and I am forever grateful I did. In two months with Jeff, I lost 25 pounds and brought my body fat percentage down from 28% to 22%. Jeff started me on my path to regain my health and fitness. This was no easy feat, as it required a trainer who could inspire, coax, motivate, be gentle, mindful, encouraging, and kind-hearted. Jeff is all of these an more. So it is not a stretch to say that Jeff is life-saver. In two months, he added 10 years to my life. What Distinguishes Jeff from Every Other Trainer? Goal-Driven, Comprehensive, and Holistic: Jeff was interested in every aspect of my wellness: from fitness, to nutrition and clean eating, to accountability. He established a thoughtful and systematic framework for success, redesigning my nutrition and fitness and monitoring it weekly. Jeff knew that I would work well with a clear plan, structure, and accountability. In knowing what worked for me, Jeff provided everything for me to succeed. And I did. Mind of a Scholar: Jeff sent me articles and videos, touting everything from the benefits of good bacteria to muscle growth. He has published (and continues to do so) in his field and posts many useful articles on his website. I read them all, finding them informative and inspiring. With two advanced degrees, Jeff has authority of knowledge about health, wellness and working out. Heart of an Educator Jeff not merely schooled academically in fitness, he is also an talented practitioner-trainer -- down-to-earth, grounded, easy-going, and deeply committed to your health and success. During sessions, he is ever-watchful, making adjustments to exercises and adapting the workout the meet the client where they are. Jeff has a steel-trap memory for your fitness levels, strength capacities, and flexibilities and uses his study of your progress to facilitate greater growth. In two short months, my flexibility, speed, endurance, and overall strength shifted dramatically. Leads By Example: Like any educator or coach, Jeff leads by example. Jeff eats mindfully and lives a clean life. I was inspired by Jeff, who takes the stairs, bikes everywhere he goes, and treats his body, mind and spirit with great respect and care. He inspired me to do the same. Mindful and Caring Above All Else: Your goals are Jeff’s. I always felt he was absolutely dedicated to helping me any way he could. He answered my questions, my e-mails, and followed through on any concern I had or even any comment I made in passing. Jeff’s care through action is extraordinary. Jeff provided me with everything I needed to succeed and (even exceed) my expectations. Without a doubt, he is one of the most informed, comprehensive, and effective trainers I’ve worked with. From diet, exercise, sports psychology, cognitive and education theory, he possesses a vast knowledge delivered in bite-size portions. I am forever grateful for Jeff. He has helped me to transform my health, body, mind and spirit.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I work with people looking to get in better shape, eat healthier, prepare for sporting events, improve their body composition, and have more energy and clarity as they go about their day. My approach is a “cross training” for human growth and physical health, incorporating all aspects of your body, mind and soul. My goal is to help you outgrow old ways of being and move into new stages of development that enhance your awareness and aliveness in life.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find someone who truly sees, accepts, and promotes your true, real, and whole self; it's the most important aspect of a vibrant wellness practice. Sure, experience and credentials are important, but the personality and philosophy of the trainer can make all the difference. If the trainer doesn't honor your values, views and goals, then even the most qualified person on the planet will be of little help.
