I hired Stephen last summer to install a screen door on the front door of the house. The door was not designed to have a screen door, so he had to design a frame build out to accommodate the screen door and handle the stress of the door opening and closing. He did a great design, made the build out look like part of the original door frame, and installed the door. Terrific job and a great person to work with. I'm already building out my list of other jobs I need done on the house and will definitely be calling Stephen to get them done.
I need help with a barn door install. I had made the door, but could not hang it do to the fact I had ordered the wrong type of hardware. With some creative and determination they were able to make it work. I highly recommend this company. They do fantastic work!
Steve came to my house today to help me install some racks in my garage. He is very professional and did the job very well. I'm 100% satisfied with his work and will work with him on more projects down the road!
I am a designer and was looking for a finish carpenter to design and install wainscoting in my client's home. Paschal was not only professional, timely and neat, his design skills and workmanship were exceptional. My client asked him to come back and build them a custom wet bar and deck. I look forward to working with him on future projects
Ralph was great. He painted the room which was my original request. In addition to painting he was able to connect my new dishwasher and change out one interior and two exterior light fixtures for me. His pricing was very competitive. He completed the work according to our agreement and cleaned up when finished. I would definitely recommend him.
Hired A Star (Michael and his business partner Drew Cabana) to do a renovation job after my condo flooded out due to bad plumbing in the building. Here's what my project with A Star entailed: Kitchen sink, counter tops and dishwasher had to be replaced, floors had to be redone (complete new floating laminate floor in living/dining area plus custom cutting and fitting several individual ceramic tiles), some custom shelves in the bathroom cabinets had to be refabricated, the covering for the AC exchanger had to be custom fabricated and the entire 950 sq ft. unit needed to be repainted. Michael and Drew did an excellent job on this work on all counts -- both in their own work on floor installation, plumbing, painting carpentry and minor electrical items, and also as general contractors supervising other vendors The folks from A Star were willing to come back again and again as we had to do things piecemeal -- first while I waited for the insurance situation to be decided, then wait for the condo management folks to replace virtually all the dry wall in every room before painting and other work by Michael and Drew could start, waiting for the carpet company I had hired separately to re-carpet the 2 bedrooms so that Michael and Drew could then install the T-molding end cap where the laminate floor meets the carpet, and finally we had to wait through delays caused by Lowe's in the delivery and installation of the sink and granite tops, which my guys supervised (they did the plumbing hookup for the sink and dishwasher themselves). It took nearly three months -- through no fault of Michael or Drew. We all had to exert the right amounts of patience and pressure on the other parties. It was a good-sized job. Many other contractors probably would have bailed mid-way through and moved on to other jobs that were easier and more clear cut, but these guys hung in there. I had to return from the Florida condo to return home to Massachusetts before the work was completed, and Michael and Drew continued to work hard to get the project done even though I wasn't around in person. Michael sent me photos of the completed work as it went along. My only criticism is that the photos were often fuzzy and therefore it was hard to see if the work had been done as expected. Michael needs to either get a better camera or have someone else take the photos of their excellent work! All in all, these guys are great. Their price was fair, they did high quality work, are easy to work with and I'd hire them again.
We recently had some trim work done on an accent wall in our living room that took up an entire 8x16' wall. There was a lot of cutting in and fine detail work because some of the design was flush to our kitchen cabinets. All of the trim design plus crown molding and baseboards needed to be painted and holes and seams filled. Paul came to the rescue! He responded quickly to all emails and messages. He was able to give an accurate quote after I sent him some pictures. He was very detail oriented. You would never know there were nail holes and seams on the wall as he made the elite design seamless. Most would have rushed through the job since it was just one wall, but Paul took his time to make sure it was done right the first time. I would absolutely hire Paul again!
I hired Tim to help put all the finishing touches on a house I am renovating. I have a deadline to get the home on the market, and Tim quoted me a decent price, within my budget and his work is excellent. The job consisted of installing a few interior doors, windows, and a few stair cases, a small deck and some railings. He also did a lot of drywall work and boxed in some electrical, gas and water lines for me. I am very happy with his attention to detail, and how he was able to figure out ways to get the job done right and bring everything together. He and Eric are very nice people and I will be certainly hiring them again for my next project.
I hired Joe to install some interior and exterior doors for me. I never waited long for Joe to respond to questions and he was very clear in his communication regarding timeline and approach, etc. The work Joe did was top notch and he made the work look easy. Always pleasant to deal with, I would/will hire Joe again for future jobs.
David was extremely easy, professional, and nice to work with. He was very accommodating and did excellent workthe paint lines were perfect. I will definitely be using him for more work with my interior design clients.
Royal Contracting worked on our enclosed front porch and on our kitchen/family room area, as well as on some smaller projects such as interior painting and installing a new back door. All of the work--painting, flooring, counter tops, lighting--went very well and we have gotten many compliments on the updates. Dermot and the people who work with him are very pleasant and helpful.
Brian of B&B Property Maintenance installed a rubber tile floor in our basement gym. He and Manny arrived exactly on time and got right to work. They had to remove the old carpet before installing the floor. We had just had the interior of our home painted, but with all the hauling out and bringing in, there was not a mark anywhere on any wall. They were meticulous! The job lasted almost seven hours. Someone else might have done it in less, but Brian made sure everything was done perfectly. They went above and beyond, making sure everything was spotless, including mopping the new floor and even mopping up an area in the basement where our humidifier had leaked. From the first email, Brian was concerned about giving us the best value. He alerted us to a 25% off sale on the rubber tiles, and suggested we order directly from the vendor and have them delivered to our house. He and Manny also removed some plastic sheeting the previous owner had installed on the basement ceiling at an extremely reasonable price. At the end of the job we asked Brian to give us a bid on replacing some drywall in the basement, and his response was to suggest we wait until we finished the basement (which we plan to do in a few years) and save the extra expense. He assured us there was no problem leaving the insulation exposed. We felt he treated our home with the same care he would treat his own. I can't think of a thing we wish they had done to improve our experience. B&B Property Maintenance LLC is outstanding!
Katrina freshened and updated my home in Barrington RI with new paint colors, upholstery, throw pillows and window treatments. She also accessorized and decluttered rooms and rearranged furniture for a cleaner and more updated look in my home. Her vendors were all wonderful and the work excellent. Katrina has an impeccable eye for color and fabric and strives to make her clients very happy. I would highly recommend her for any interior project.
Dear Kelly:I would like to personally thank you for the excellent work Dcor & You did recently on the roller blinds at our store. The product you chose has been excellent and the installation went flawlessly. Most importantly, I no longer have the glare coming through in the late afternoons.I realize that many people think of you for the personal decorating, and that makes sense, but you are also an excellent fit for any business looking to keep their look, and even their functionality, up to par. Thank you, again, for providing such excellent service to us!Regards,Mike Apfelberg, Owner, Educational Outfitters of New Hampshire
What’s not to love! So professional, loves what she does which yu can clearly see, has an eye for design, and also very knowledgeable. I had no idea that there were so many options when it came to window treatments. Styles, designs, colors! She guided me through the whole process, which was very helpful. She brought over samples so I could actually see and feel what I’d be purchasing which is huge because I like to know what I’m going to get. And install, she does that too! I am sooo happy and so pleased with Judee and would definitely recommend her.
Tim and crew were hired to convert a breezeway space into a four season room. This involved demolishing and rebuilding two outside walls, removing shingle from the other two walls, and finishing the interior to the point of being ready for painting. He installed a slider, exterior doors, and windows. From the estimate phase through completion, Tim was upfront and professional. He and his crew did quality work, from excellent finish carpentry to making sure the site was cleaned up after each day's work. If problems were found along the way, Tim brought them to my attention promptly and worked collaboratively to find solutions. The only downside of this experience was having the start date of the job delayed. Despite that, however, Tim completed the job within my required timeline. I think all builders have challenges with time/job management, so that said, Tim performed relatively well. I would hire him again, and give high recommendations. Thanks, guys, for your awesome work!
Where do I start? The whole experience from initial call, consultation, design process through installation was a phenomenal. She was very informative along the way and customer service clearly takes the front seat throughout. Thank you Laurie and team!
Chris has worked on my "flat" roof several times -- it is rolled rubber now (formerly asphalt which continuously failed) because of him and his Dad determining rubber to be the best solution to the continuous leaking I had my family had experienced since 1947 when the house was built. The roof he and his Dad installed (SW Debbs LLC) is protecting my 1947 "modern" house with a roof that looks flat but is efficiently pitched. The roof on this house always presented problems with its asphalt coating used over decades -- major leaks and interior damage had consistently occurred. Chris and his father installed rolled rubber to remedy the situation. They also discovered through close examination that some seepage was occurring via eroded concrete on a decorative parapet. They applied material that stopped this water seepage efficiently. What a relief to find someone who would not walk away from a challenge -- someone who stuck with the problem until it was solved satisfactorily! Rare! Most recently Chris and his Dad repaired a portion of the "flat" roof that had been installed (before I met them) by another contractor. They adjusted the slight pitch of that portion of the roof to channel the run-off efficiently, installed insulation which had not been done previously, and re-installed rolled rubber properly. Again, a long-standing problem was diagnosed and solved at a reasonable cost. Chris is efficient, on time, focused, friendly, and totally reliable. He gets the job done at a reasonable price. I am currently renovating a colonial house from the 1790s, and I intend to have the roof rebuilt and replaced by Chris' company. I know him to be honest, hard-working, dependable, and determined to solve problems and produce robust results. I offer my highest recommendation!
Have had this business install plantation shutters in my last two houses. Excellent quality -- perfect fit!! I love the shutters, they provide an additional layer of insulation too. Highly recommend Lisa!!
