I wanted to wait until at least the next day to write a review, because I was a bit lightheaded after my session. However, I woke up the next morning in so much less pain than I had been in years. This was not a "cookie-cutter" massage; Doug was able to remove stress knots and loosen up the tension in my upper back. He described thoroughly what he was doing and how and why it would benefit. I would highly recommend seeing Doug Turet for massage therapy.
The massage therapy session I had with Steve was extremely effective. He was able to target the specific problem areas I have and he also shared his vast knowledge with me to extend the benefits of the massage and prevent further injury. His professionalism, punctuality and caring nature makes him a massage therapist I will be recommending to my family and friends! Looking forward to my next visit!
I was very impressed with Donna's welcoming manner, pleasant and friendly personality, and more importantly her skill as a massage therapist, I received a great massage at a very fair fee. An added bonus is her relaxing massage room with beautiful full wall mural! I look forward to my next session.
I had a terrible lower back pain after the therapy, I was relieved
I was dogsitting my parent's 12 year old Yorkie, who demonstrated classic signs of fear aggression and was very territorial in the home. When we took him for walks he would bark and snap at other dogs on the path. On his first visit Mike brought treats and notepads for us to take notes, and he stopped our little yorkie's barking in its tracks and demonstrated immense patience. Our dog even bit him on their first meeting, but Mike didn't miss a beat! With his therapy dog Finn we worked through our dog's aggression. Finn was never out of control and was as patient as Mike with our dog. The dog that we currently have compared to the dog that we initially brought to Mike are as different as night and day! We only had four sessions with Mike, but he is able to socialize off-leash with other dogs now (he doesn't play with them, but he's able to just be around them, which is so much better than before). And when we walk him he's now able to greet other dogs without trying to bite them, so we no longer get scared every time we see another dog walking on the street. Lastly, our Yorkie used to drag his feet while walking, trying to sniff every little thing. After our first few meetings with Mike he showed us how to get our dog to walk at a better pace, and to follow us better. Walks that used to take us an hour now take us about 20 minutes! I highly recommend his training! Not only did he drive out early every Saturday, but he also never complained about Davis Square's parking situation.
Eric's Healing Hands put him on my Top Five best massage List...this from someone who's had massage therapy for 20+ years. His european holistic approach offered deep relaxation followed by rejuvenation. Skilled, professional, gentle persona, outstanding.
I have fibromyalgia along with a host of on and off sports related injuries and have been under Marlen Caduff's care since 2009. Prior to learning of Marlen, I experimented with other local masseuses. Note, I didn't say massage therapists. Following my initial session with Marlen, I recognized the difference. She combines caring, empathy, deep knowledge of the body and one other thing to render healing and true therapy. Marlen's knowledge of the body transcends physiology. To understand however, it starts there. She has college degrees from Switzerland in nursing and body movement (no American equivalent degree). In addition to massage practices learned in Thailand, her Swiss and American certifications, Marlen specialized in Birth Preparation training in Switzerland. Combine this underlying foundation of knowledge with Marlen's ability to quickly learn and understand the energy circulation and pain threshold spots in her client's body and you'll begin to see why Marlen is exceptional. This exceptional talent and knowledge will push a person to the front of their profession. But I'm convinced what separates Marlen from leading therapists is a gift of both perception and intuition. Her ability to perceive through touch, what your body needs is pure unadulterated art. Because of the fibro, my body is ultra-sensitive. But there are times when it needs deeper massage work. I'm not consciously aware of this and if I was I wouldn't think deeper work would be appropriate. But Marlen knows. I've never felt pain when she's gone there. I'm trying my best to articulate this but in all reality this experience defies description. Marlen has another gift. As a spa owner, she has continuously surrounded herself with intelligent and caring professionals. Finally, aside from Marlen's talent, knowledge, gifts and entrepreneurial acumen, she is a kind-hearted, warm and friendly person. Her spirit is even better!
Wonderful service. Oui Massage Therapy came to the hospital where my wife was staying and gave her a full massage right in her bed. Very respectful, very thorough, and just overall great service! Great communication too! Highly recommend them!
I have had multiple great experiences with Massage Therapies. Vinny is an excellent therapist who caters your massage to your needs. It is a very relaxing and therapeutic experience. I highly recommend it!!
I was involved in an automobile accident several months before visiting and was unable to find any relief for my neck pain. I had tried physical therapy for months and it would help that day and maybe the next, but the pain came back. After a few massages I am like a new guy. I would recommend that anyone who has similar issues give this a try. The young lady is professional, and extremely responsive. The experience was completely relaxing and pleasant.
Coming from a high level sports background, it was nice to see someone so dedicated to a specific practice. Attention to detail and progression is a steady theme with the Barbell Therapy Model and it makes a huge difference. Strength is only part of the puzzle and you quickly realize that in sessions with Brett. I will continue going to him for quite some time.
Veronica was A-MAZING! I've had a lot of massages over the years and she is by far the best I've ever had. Absolutely awesome I'm going back again next week!!
She actually responded!!
I came in with lower back pain. He listened attentively to my problem, was able to pinpoint the location of my discomfort, and helped me figure out what I could be doing to create this tension. He treated the area and I felt better for months afterward. I definitely recommend.
Manna massage is dedicated to creating meaningful and sustainable change in each client's soft tissue and is Brighton's best massage therapy. The work at Manna Massage is based on the premise that enhanced body awareness is the first step to symptom relief and wellness. The beauty of bodywork is that each practitioner brings his or her unique approach to a massage session. Each client and practitioner forms a unique working relationship, so finding the right fit is critical to successful bodywork. Anna Mulholland, founder of Manna Massage, meets with her clients to discuss the type of massage that will best meet their needs. After earning her diploma in Muscular Therapy in 2006 from the Cortiva Institute in Boston, Anna completed her Structural Integration training with the CORE Institute in November 2008, before opening Manna Massage. At Manna Massage, Anna specializes in several significant components of Therapeutic Massage: Myofascial Therapy: This form of therapy involves releasing tension through manipulating the deep fascia. The goal of this type of bodywork is to dissipate muscular tension and re-balance the body. In many cases, Anna will analyze a clients posture and recommend specific stretches or movements to support the benefits of Myofascial Therapy. Trigger Point Therapy: This form of Massage is also known Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), which provides relief for clients who are suffering from painful, acute spasms in their muscles. The technique involves applying static finger pressure to the affected area, breaking the rhythm of the spasm and diminishing pain. Structural Integration: Think of Structural Integration as the big picture result of Therapeutic Massage. This means that as the soft tissue or fascia is worked on, the body is given space to realign itself in a healthy manner. Often tension, injuries, and physical and emotional trauma are held by the soft tissue resulting in chronic pain and discomfort. Structural Integration creates balance and ease of motion in the entire body. Pregnancy Massage: Pregnant women suffer from everyday tensions and pre-existing injury patterns as well as ligament laxity and additional strains from the postural changes that occur during pregnancy. Pregnancy Massage is gentle and safe, and provides relief from muscle cramps, spasms, and myofascial pain especially in the lower back, neck, hips, and legs. Manna Massage is located in Brighton's Cleveland Circle and accessible from all three branches of the Green line (B line at Chestnut Hill Avenue, C line at Cleveland Circle and D line at Reservoir, refer to the map). Theres plenty of on-street metered parking available. Anna takes clients by appointment only. Just wait till I get my hands on you. - Anna Mulholland
1. A neuromuscular therapist will concentrate on the origin and insertions of the muscles. An NMT knows how to palpate muscle group and feel for tight and constricted muscles. Once the muscle has been identified the therapist will use deep stripping strokes, trigger points, cross fiber friction or pin and stretch techniques to loosen up these tight areas. An NMT knows how to get into the muscles on a deeper level without causing discomfort to the patient.
