Introduction: Hello and thank you very much for stopping at my profile! I'm Isabel and I am a nationally-certified piano teacher accredited by Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) founded in 1876. My piano teaching studio is based in Westfield in western Massachusetts, and I am happy to offer online lessons to beginner-intermediate students of all ages. Last year, I celebrated my 10th anniversary of music teaching, and I remain passionate in my mission to foster the artistic development of my piano students. Educationally, I earned my undergraduate B.A. degree from the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University in New York, and I focused on music studies at Mannes School of Music and Hunter College, as a second degree music major at the latter college. My personal piano teachers have included celebrated concert pianist, Xiayin Wang, and my own performance career spans over fifteen years and counting. I am also a certified cantor and excited to work with students who wish to learn to sing and accompany themselves at the piano. Moreover, I am glad to share that I have experience working with a wide range of students, including students with special needs, and so welcome inquiries from parents with children with needs such as high-functioning autism. An everyday piano lesson with me incorporates educational games and activities, improvisational exercises, music theory studies, and, of course, plenty of fun and stimulating music to take home and practice! I have a repertoire-rich approach to teaching and enjoy nurturing singing and composing abilities in my students as they grow at the piano. My daughter has been taking lessons for almost two years with Isabelle and have enjoyed them very much. isabelle is very warm and loving and makes the lessons educational but very enjoyable for the students. She offers many different tools and challenges to keep practicing fun. She is very devoted and passionate in her teaching of the piano.

After retirement last year, I started taking piano lessons with Isabel. I was a bit apprehensive as I had no previous musical experience to draw on. With Isabel's encouragement and patience I have gained confidence and can now read and play some beautiful music on my piano. I highly recommend Isabel as she is passionate in her love of music and she passes that along to her students.

I highly recommend Isabel for teaching piano to children. My 5- year-old immediately connected with Isabel's style, and she practices on her own to please her teacher. Isabel uses a variety of methods to instill a grounded knowledge of rhythm, singing, playing (of course), and making music fun. Every week I marvel at how much my daughter is progressing, and I admire the different types of activities she introduces. It's not just sitting at the piano for 30 minutes every week - it's physical movement, exercises at home involving family members.....her method really resonates with my daughter.

Isabel Marcheselli has been my piano teacher for several months. I started out as an absolute, adult beginner, but, thanks to Isabel's patience, guidance and immense knowledge, she instilled in me a basic and easy-to-understand knowledge of the piano keys essential for playing piano. As a result, I can play several basic songs which makes piano playing fun! I would highly recommend Isabel to any beginner who has a desire to learn the piano.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prospective students and parents are welcome to inquire about packages of 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons. The latter two options of 45 and 60 minute lessons are highly recommended for more serious and motivated students who want to accomplish more in their lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For teaching inquiries, I set up a telephone conversation with prospective students and parents before lessons are arranged. At the first lesson, we get started on the road to making musical magic happen!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My private piano teachers have included world renowned concert pianist, Xiayin Wang, and performing jazz pianist, Glafkos Kontemeniotis. In terms of my professional experience, I have a musical career spanning over two decades of public performances. Also, I have recording credits and have been featured on several musician's albums. As a piano teacher, I wholeheartedly embrace my professional development and new teaching strategies. I am a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
