Introduction: Over thirty years of dancing for performance, I have developed ways to tune in, align the bones, access the core and release unnecessary tension. I teach these methods to Pilates and yoga clients to reach their physical and mental goals, and prevent injuries.
As a dance instructor, these simple movement principles can be applied to choreography or improvisation. I specialize in helping people find their natural movement styles. Form is important but I find flow, rhythm, quality and attitude just as interesting if not more so.
I love to delve into the complexities of other bodies, visually and energetically. Imagery works magic and it's a delight to observe the shifts of alignment and release as strength builds toward the bones releasing tension from the surface. I love to get to know the vast experience of different people as it manifests as patterns in their bodies, and to witness the increased peace, power and confidence that results from the contemplative physical work of yoga and Pilates.
As a dance instructor I love to see people's personalities expressed through movement.
