Jay has captured the joy and radiance of my aussie cattle dog on several photo shoots from when he was a puppy - he's now 8 years. I've done both studio and outdoor nature shoots and loved them both. I highly recommend Jay.

i can not express the gratitude i have for the photos jay took of my three dogs. they are all very skittish and i was hoping for the best, but wasnt sure how the pictures would turn out.Jay was so patient with the three of them, took his time and tried to make them as comfortable as possible. it worked. when i seen the end results i cried. they were breathtaking he captured the essence and soul of my three fur babies. so beautiful. made so much more important because my oldest dog rudy, had congestive heart problems and i knew he wouldnt be with me much longer. i now proudly display the pictures of my three fur babies and i am so grateful for a job so well done.

Jay is a professional photographer of dogs. I needed a professional headshot of myself on short notice. I'm not a dog. I just retuned from his studio. He is the soul of patience- I brought 5 outfits. And turnaround time by tomorrow. He certainly prefers to photograph dogs and given his patience with nervous nelly me, my very educated guess is he great at doing that. Super reasonable price. I highly recommend him. He is a pleasure to do business with.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
For the past eighteen months I have been volunteering at a shelter for dogs who are in need of homes. I take their pictures that are then posted on the shelter's website for prospective adopters to view. Many of the dogs come from high kill shelters or have been abandoned or abused. Even though this is not a paid job, when someone says "I saw this dog's picture on your website and knew I wanted to adopt him", compensation doesn't get much better than that.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Since cameras are so ubiquitous now and digital cameras are billed as being able to allow anyone to take great pictures, many people think doing a portrait involves little more than a few shutter clicks. Taking good portraits involves a lot more, not only during the shoot but in set up and post production as well.
