Thanks Anita,Jane, Jesse and all the instructors!
Matt is an amazing guitarist and teacher! He's a really easy going guy, but never shys away from giving helpful feedback. I've improved so much with my lessons, and I'm having a blast too!
Josh is a fantastic drum instructor. He's got talent galore, enthusiasm to burn, and the ability to teach at whatever level the student is at. He combines a passion for music with a natural ability to communicate clearly, which translates into lessons that are super fun and productive. He trained at Berkley won awards for teaching, and is highly sought after as a performer He's truly a gem, as a person and as a drum instructor. Could not be happier!
Kris has a way of making the material so easy to learn. Whenever I am stuck with a particular area, he breaks it down and we work on all of the parts together. Soon enough, it all comes together! I have learned A LOT since I first started taking drum lessons at The Drummers' Studio. I drive about 40 minutes after a long day of work to my drum lesson, and it is worth it every single time! I really can't say enough great things about The Drummers' Studio, a truly excellent experience that will leave you with great knowledge and skills.
David has been teaching me guitar for a little over a month now. I have already seen great advances in my technique, rhythm, and understanding of music. I have been playing guitar for 9 years off and on, and I have never had professional lessons. I can say that after a month with David, I am playing better than I ever have and believe that my guitar playing skills will continue to progress rapidly with David's help. His teaching technique is very casual and fun, almost conversational, and his insights are spot on. He is exactly what I hoped for in an instructor when I started looking at guitar lessons and I would highly recommend him for anyone who loves guitar, regardless of their skill level. He is a 'must hire' professional!
My son has taken drum lessons from Brian for several years now and really enjoys their weekly sessions. In addition to excellent technical teaching, my son enjoys Brian's sense of humor and that they work on a variety of music types. Brian is always accommodating about scheduling conflicts for which I have been grateful. All-in-all, Brian is a wonderful music instructor and a pleasure to work with.
Seven years ago I took drum lessons with my middle school band director. Basically, I stood in front of the drum set and watched him perform a step. Then I tried the step a couple times while the teacher watched me. This process took about 15 minutes. Then the teacher would tell me that for the rest of the hour I was to learn the step, while he went off to do his other stuff, and that I wasnt to return for another lesson until I mastered the step. I never learned the step (who would with this kind of teaching) and I never returned for another lesson. Seven years later, I had a drum lesson with Jonathan Wollenberger. I was completely blown out of my mind. The lesson began with him showing me how to hold sticks, and him helping me to adjust the heights of the cymbals, chair, and drums. Then he proceeded to try and teach me the same step that I had been taught in middle school. As I tried to get the hang of it, he was extremely attentive, and gave me advice about gripping the sticks, moving my arms and shoulders, how to sit, and more. Above all, his happy charm and patience really made me feel motivated. Jonathan is very knowledgable about drumsticks, drum sets, and teaching materials. Based on our lesson, he was able to recommend me a specific type of stick based on my arm length, strength, and height. He always comes to our lessons well prepared and in a good mood. Apparently, my lesson with him was his first time teaching! I was very surprised, as it seemed like he had been teaching for years. Jonathan is a natural when it comes to teaching, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for drum lessons.
Michael has been teaching me for one year and I enjoy working with him a lot. The best and most patient percussion teacher ever!! He is good at all different kinds of percussion but the drum set is what I normally learn. He normally separates the teaching session into two parts, basic drum pad training and drum set practice, which I found it very helpful especially for beginners like me. He always asks me for the songs I like and he will conpose the music sheets for drum part (literally any kind of songs since I’m Chinese, I have a lot of favourite Chinese songs but he doesn’t mind at all hh). Learning the songs that I love has always been a great motivation for me to keep practicing drum which also indicates that Michael is such a great teacher who knows how to motivates his students and lead them further.
Working with Janna has been such a wonderful experience, my son also started coming for lessons. I could not have asked for a better instructor or studio.
I've taken 3 lessons with Ben and I am extremely happy and excited about the potential of my drumming! Ben is a great, thoughtful teacher that is not scared to throw new and exciting rhythms at you. As a beginner drummer with music experience, I value his patience and friendliness and he will even cater his lessons to any style you are curious about! If you are new to drumming or are at a higher level, Ben is the guy that will open your drumming to new levels. I look forward to our lessons and many more throughout the year!
Great communication, respect, knowledge and punctuality
I began taking voice lessons from Peter Hostage in May and have been highly satisfied with my decision to do so. If you are considering taking music lessons with Mr. Hostage, know that you can expect a high level of professionalism, a relaxed atmosphere, and most importantly, quality musical instruction. As someone who began singing at an early age, I have had the opportunity to sing both individually and as part of numerous groups. In just three weeks Peter has introduced me to technique that I had not been exposed in my 10+ years singing. I am confident that continued lessons with Mr. Hostage will enhance my vocal ability. The lessons are definitely worth the investment!
Renee was fantastic - very responsive, quick follow ups, and easy to work with. I needed a voice lesson with short notice, and she came through with a great teacher and very easy scheduling. Couldn't be happier, thanks!
Just started working with Michael. He’s a talented artist and passionate about Music which is exactly what I was looking for in a music (singing) instructor for my 15 year old daughter. She looks forward to her lesson and most recently creating her own songs!
I've had the pleasure of witnessing Jacob's musicianship and enthusiasm for the art and highly recommend those interested in taking guitar lessons to drop him a line!
Matt was my son's first private drum instructor. He was very dedicated, enthusiastic and has continued to help my son advance over the last several years.

I am a Boston based graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance. I create fun and engaging lessons for all ages that are tailored to your specific personalities and needs! I have worked with a wide range of age levels from 7 year olds to adults in their 40s. The skill levels were anywhere from kids just wanting to try drums out, to students wanting an advanced method and perspective on drums and music. I try to cater to the students specific needs and preferences, and find great rewards in the various styles of teaching from beginner to advanced. I love to incorporate listening and transcribing famous beats or songs, as well as songs the students might want to learn. I use a mix of learning from notation and reading, with hearing things by ear as well, to develop a balanced connection between the limbs and ears. I use drum method books for things like 4-way independence in the limbs, and having good technique and control. I also think improvisation is an essential part of music, and I allow students to be free in expressing their musical ideas within the context of a song or groove. This is the most fun for me! One fun method I use is a Call and Response method, to work on memory and critical listening as well. It all depends on the pace that the student is most comfortable with, and maybe if they only want to learn their favorite pop/rock songs, thats fine as well. I just might try incorporating the methods above in a more suitable way for that specific individual.
