Introduction: I am a master tutor and standardized test prep specialist with over 20 years experience. I have helped hundreds of students achieve their goals on the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, and LSAT while working as an independent tutor, for The Princeton Review, and for the Academic Success Center at Worcester State University. We hired Oliver to work with our 11 year old son to prep for the ISEE. We only had about a month to prep and Oliver spent 5 sessions focused on math and reading. Our son's scores improved in all 4 areas of the ISEE! We were really pleased with the results and our son enjoyed working with Oliver. We'll definitely keep Oliver's information for any future tutoring needs and highly recommend him.

Oliver is excellent! He tutors my daughter in high school Chemistry. He is professional, punctual, flexible, and explains the material in a way she understands. We particularly appreciate how he can “jump in” to the material with no preparation (unusual compared to other tutors we’ve known). He is even willing to pivot and help her with Math if needed. Highly recommend.

Oliver is an extremely charismatic and amicable tutor, with a plethora of knowledge that stems from an impressive background in academia and standardized testing. My son has been struggling in honors chemistry. Oliver has helped him immensely in just a few visits. He’s gone from scoring 60-70 on tests to getting 90% and higher. My son says “he explains things better than my teacher”. What’s more - although he was initially resistant to needing a tutor - my son looks forward to the sessions and readily agreed to keep going through the end of year. I couldn’t be happier that Oliver has helped chemistry “click” for my son!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Assess the student's strengths, weaknesses, and needs, then structure the tutorial such that the student maximizes his or her potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained by The Princeton Review to Teach and tutor SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, GMAT test prep. Within 3 years I was awarded "Master Tutor" status for all of these subjects. In addition to degrees in Mathematics and Psychology I have 1.5 years of graduate school credit in Education and 2.5 years of graduate school credit in Cognitive Science. Also, I remain informed as to changes ETS and other testing companies make to their materials!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
This was a gradual process. In high school I discovered my propensity for explaining school work in a manner that helped some of my friends get through their classes. I continued with this informal tutoring throughout college. In graduate school, I learned that I enjoy leading classes as well. Even upon leaving academia to pursue a career in music, I continued tutoring as a part-time endeavor.
