FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Students usually pay for a "slot" of time on my schedule. These "slots" are reserved for that student on a weekly basis unless they let me know at least 48 hours in advance to cancel the appointment (of course I make exceptions). I do provide lessons a la carte however.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a free 30 minute consultation either at my studio or over Skype. The student and I meet, I ask a lot of questions, and then at the end of the session I provide the student with a long-term and short-term curriculum plan. If, after the consultation, the student decides to take a slot, I provide them with an assignment to complete before our next lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In high-school I went to a private arts school (The Field School) where I received a musical education on guitar and audio production. In college I received a B.A. with a minor in music theory. While growing up I was taught by two prominent DC Jazz Guitarists, Pete Muldoon and Matt Kelley. I currently have chosen to self-direct my practice with the help of two Jazz musicians, Marc Andre and Jon Epley (who are both currently recording their own albums).
