Eduardo Cuesta is an extraordinary teacher. He "meets you where you are" and works with you at whatever level/ experience you begin with. I have been taking lessons for several months and feel more confident in my speaking/ reading the language. I am a beginner. I had some Spanish in elementary school, and have taken several classes in a classroom setting--but never felt confident enough to have a conversation. I now feel confident to speak more and practice conversational skills. Eduardo is always prepared to give you relevant and practical exercises to do at home. He also uses readings, conversation, television and media, and language exercises/drills. A perfect combination of "classroom type" exercises and conversational exercises. I am a native Spanish speaker and I have been studying English in Spain since I was in school. When I moved to the US I realized that I had difficulties to understand and to communicate effectively in English. Since I have met Ellen, my pronunciation has improved, and so have my listening comprehension, my use of grammar and my vocabulary. The people around me have noticed a great improvement in my English, and since Ellen is tutoring me I have gained confidence in my speaking skills. Mirna listened to what I wanted to get out of lessons with her-namely improve my grammar and written skills ( I speak some Spanish). She used resources that were interesting for me such as newspaper articles on economics, politics and culture. Her lessons were a pleasure at the same time BECAUSE they were interesting. She helped me tremendously.
