Nancy simplified my life by showing (not telling) me what I could wear and look and feel good in. I learned why I had such a mishmash of things in my wardrobe--trying to find a "look." In one session, Nancy showed me what to do/look for. Now I don't go through those agonizing shopping trips of trying and trying things and finding nothing. I can tell by looking at stuff right away if I should bother trying it on. I can tell which bargains are really bargains for me. Nancy's advice works no matter what your budget is. She has lots of inexpensive tricks that make even inexpensive clothing look genuinely elegant. I consider Nancy to be one of the very best things that ever happened to me. The money, time and hassle she's saved me over the years is incalculable. She knows what she's doing, and loves it. Always a pleasure to work with a professional who is competent and loves her work!

We were so very satisfied with Nancys professional service. We contacted Nance primarily to provide Color1 recommendations for my daughter, as I had my own colors done about 20 years ago. We got so much more. For both my daughter and me she provided an evaluation of our shapes, both faces and bodies, that fed into recommendations for clothing styles and purses best suited to compliment our faces and body shapes. This evaluation included necklines suited to our faces, size and types of jewelry, and where necklaces should optimally fall to provide a balanced look. We went through a wide selection of my clothes and my daughters clothes to determine what items are already well suited for our color/faces/shapes and what clothes need to evolve out of our wardrobes over time, or might work for us with adjustments. It was all amazing and so helpful. She evaluated our learning styles to help understand how we each process information which in turned helped us understand why one of us grasps the visual aspect of making a wardrobe work more easily. She helped me decide to finally get rid of clothes that were sitting in my closet for years. We had a makeup session that covered both colors and application, even eye brow shaping! And yes, there is more we emailed Nancy the next weekend while we were out shopping for handbags. She got back to us with how to choose a bag shape that again works for our figure. Who would have thought! This Color 1 consultation by Nancy was absolutely amazing covering multiple aspects of how to shop and dress to look our best and feel our best in what we wear. It was way more than either of us expected. Working with Nance was a pleasure. We were at our ease with her friendly, comfortable and knowledgeable manner. I highly recommend Nancys service!

I am so glad I consulted with Nancy and recommend her image consulting services. Everything went well, and I cant think of how they could have gone better. Nancy begins by requesting a series of photos from you so that she can assess your coloring, face shape, and body type, and, at least in my case, administering a 15-question Thinking Patterns inventory (I expressed I was overwhelmed by all the choices when I went shopping). These initial steps are done via email. Next, she met with me for 2 sessions in person. During the first session, she presented me with Color 1 samples (colors that look good on me) that I can take with me when I go shopping; sketches of the styles/shapes of clothing that are best for my body type; information on my color profile, and fabrics, jewelry, purse style, shoe color, etc. that are best for me; and instructions for using my Color 1 samples. I color my hair, and Nancy gently suggested that the reddish tint in it was aging me by distorting the contrast between my hair and skin, encouraged me to go back to my natural dark brown hair color, and even emailed me photos of a flattering hairstyle for my upcoming salon appointment. I followed her advice, she was right, and in the long run, Ill be saving money since Ill only be coloring my hair to touch up the gray. During the second session, Nancy spent several hours with me shopping my closet creating several new outfits, explaining why certain items should be altered for a more flattering fit, accessorizing, and developing a list of items to purchase; suggesting a more flattering eyeglass frame color next time I get frames; explaining what a wardrobe capsule is and how it can be my go-to outfit; makeup advice; ways to tie scarves (and alternative uses for scarves that werent flattering on me), etc. After your last meeting with Nancy, for the next 3 months if you buy anything new or are considering buying anything new, you can send her an e-mail with a picture or link and she will say yes or no and explain why. I really appreciate that Nancy provided me with tangible info. For instance, during our consultations, she would take photos of outfits I would try on, and show me immediately on her viewfinder why something worked or didnt work. She showed me how the reddish tint in my hair color was aging me. She didnt simply say you should wear bright blue but instead leaves you several samples of flattering blues (and other colors) that you can take with you when you shop, as well as sketches of flattering clothing shapes. Nancy is respectful of a persons style, whether its sporty, casual, tailored, and/or fashionista, etc. and doesnt try to change you. She works with the flattering pieces that are already in your closet, gently points out those that arent and why, and how they can be put to other uses. I waffled about contacting an image consultant because I thought it may be frivolous; after all, Im not famous or in the public eye. But its not frivolousIve learned that in my case, my natural hair color was the way to go so Ill be saving money in the salon; I have more in my closet that I can work with than I thought I did; and if youre like me and are so overwhelmed when you go clothes shopping that you cant make a decision or buy something just to have something to show for your 2 hours in the mall, then the color chart and clothing sketches that Nancy gives you will help you to zero in on flattering styles/colors in stores and walk out if you dont see anything that suits you. I recommend Nancy highly!

I asked Nancy to help me choose the right eyeglass frames for my face. She sent pictures beforehand, and then met me at Lenscrafters where we went through lots of styles before finding the perfect ones. Though I didn't buy them that day, I now know 'the rules' for my face. I learned other things that day as well, as we walked around the mall -- like the right shade lipstick, different colors and styles for my body shape, etc., Nancy is really good, and loves what she does!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not complicated. Flat rate for basic service and an hourly rate if they want personal shopping after the basic service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1.No obligation, phone conversation for about 20 minutes to determine needs and give free fashion personality test. 2.If I am hired, I ask for specific photos which I used to do color analysis and face and body shape analysis. 3.After I analyze face and body shape and do a color analysis using photos, meet with my client usually at their home twice, usually for 3 to 4 hrs. 4.My client gets a wallet of her best colors and line drawings of best clothing styles. 5. I show her how to use colors to shop her closet, as well as use it to online catalog shop. 6. Makeup lesson is optional. I show her how to use wallet of color to choose makeup 7.I also show her best jewelry shapes and best scale 8.Optional hair style makeover suggestions 9. For 3 months after the service, she can e-mail me with photos of potential purchases she is unsure of. There is no charge for this service for 3 months.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained by Color 1, an international company. Since my training in 1991, I have gotten advanced training from Color 1 and I am constantly reading and incorporating new information into what I teach my clients.
