I've been taking guitar lessons with Tim for the better part of the year and I couldn't be happier with my experience. He's talented, patient, and super accommodating to my whacky schedule. We've worked on various styles such as Jazz, Folk, and Blues and thanks to Tim I've made significant progress in my guitar playing! I highly recommend Tim as a teacher.
I took bass lessons with Morgan; not only did he teach me bass, but music! Keys, scales, modes, majors & minors... he tailored his teaching to what I could absorb, and opened my eyes to the possibilities...
Dan's a fantastic teacher because he makes you want to be a better musician. He uses different ways of instructing that specifically cater to your tastes and interests. He's familiar with a wide range of music, genres, and instruments. I came to Dan for beginner guitar lessons, but ended up gaining much more musical knowledge than I could have ever imagined. Dan helped me with the technicalities of the guitar, and helped me refine and add to my skill as a drummer of 11 years. In Jam Class, we played everything from James Brown to Nirvana. Dan is able to foster a great community of musicians within Jam Class, and will not only teach you to play, but to perform and work with other musicians.
Ill be honest, I got lucky finding Dave. Years ago, I saw an ad in the Baltimore City newspaper, a place where Dave stopped advertising shortly after I called him. Youll have the same luck learning from a dynamic artist. Each lesson has as much energy as the first, you will never get bored. If you're looking for a professional, experienced, and dedicated musician you found him. I knew nothing about the bass before taking lessons with Dave. He always puts the student's musical interest first providing solid instruction. He structured each lesson to my interests, i.e. if I wanted to learn Le Chic's Good Times, Dave didn't try to convince me to do something else; he went with what I asked. And Dave is totally accessible. Ive had lessons in his apartment, studio, house, and on Skype and FaceTime. He even worked with me while overseas in France via Skype, thats 6 hours time difference. Dont kid yourself, if you are serious about learning the bass so is Dave. Hell find a way to make it work. The best part is during each lesson and over the years he incorporated fundamental musical knowledge to build my understanding and repertoire. If you work hard, listen, and be patient you will grow.
Our family has had great experiences with Tempee. My younger sister took bass lessons from him while she lived in the area and thoroughly enjoyed them. My son is currently taking guitar lessons and is really growing as a guitarist. One of my favorite parts about my son's lessons is the music theory that Tempee seamlessly incorporates into the lessons. Tempee's enthusiasm and patience also go a long way in making my son look forward to his weekly lesson and actually practice in the meantime.
I spent four years a bass student of Jason's and cannot give high enough praise. His skill on a wide range of styles, knowledge of music and the theory behind it is amazing. As is his patience with even rank beginners, like me. Most certainly a teacher i would encourage anyone desiring to learn from the start, or to improve on existing abilities, to seek out.
I am so happy I met Susanna and Jerrod! They're both phenominal teachers. They taught all three of my children to sing and play the piano through private instruction and group classes. They have found the instruction fun yet challenging and have really learned a lot. Thanks so much!
Starting from scratch I was able to learn the basics and more involved in playing the bass guitar. Dwight remained very helpful, encouraging, and most importantly patient. Dwight always pushed me to be confident In myself and kept the lessons fresh. He was an excellent instructor for all ages and all levels of those interested in music. I recommend to all, you will be pleased by his professionalism and his desire for you to learn.
I have studied guitar with Maurice Arenas for several years. He has taken me from a beginner to a soon Bachelor of Music graduate. Along the way he has taught me everything from McCartney to Mozart to Monk, all with the same high level of expertise. His vast repertoire is complimented by his virtuoso technical skill and tasteful musicianship. Maurice has been an excellent mentor to myself and others and develops his lessons according to individual learning styles. I have never had a more positive guitar experience.
Chris was such a wonderful teacher. Not only was he friendly but also understanding and really met me where I was in my beginner skill set. I have absolutely no background in playing music but Chris was able to break it down for me in a way were not only did I absorb it but I was also excited to learn more and practice afterwards. He was extremely respectful, warm and understanding teacher. I recommend him and love his approach and energy. After the first lesson he gave me homework based on my specific needs. I can't say enough good things about him. If you're looking for an amazingly talented bass instructor Chris is the real deal.
Max Kuzmyak is a very knowledgeable musician with a large skill set that is useful in the music industry. He can teach trumpet, guitar, voice, and has extensive theory knowledge as well. He is also well versed in recording and audio engineering. Max is very friendly, easy to work with, and professional. I would highly recommend working with him if you are looking for a private teacher, or a recorder.
My kids have taken rock guitar, bass and band lessons from Tom. He is a knowledgeable, engaging and dedicated music teacher. Tom has high expectations and his enthusiasm is contagious!
I studied with Mr. Harper in 2013. His techniques were wonderful. He put me at ease learning the fundamentals of bass guitar, showing me proper fingering, posture etc. He was always in a pleasant mood and had a lot of patience with me. Being a female, Mr. Harper never made me feel uneasy but was always a great gentleman. If anyone wants to really understand their instrument from top to bottom, Robert Harper is your guy!
Frankey has been the drummer for our church over the last seven years. He has matured into a very gifted drummer. He is reliable, conscientious, professional, and a great musician.
After two lessons, I feel very encouraged that this was the right move. Rob is easy-going, a good listener, and focused on teaching me to *actually play*. He deals with technique and theory, but is not rigid or dogmatic about it. I highly recommend him.

I'm not a professional guitar or bass instructor but have been playing music since 1977. I have been playing in bands on and off for about 26 years. I currently play in a local rock and roll roots music band. For those interested, I would be happy to teach basic chords on guitar and blues scales on bass, for example.

I like to teach people music it's fun and I enjoy it the most
I have turned lessons with some kids into 6-8 year long mentoring relationships. Some have moved onto musics schools and Universities. I work with people from ages 7-61 currently. I have a 100% success rate with my students, but only when time and practice is regimented by the student . Studying and playing music for 30 years has taught me a lot. I base my lesson plans entirely ontbe individual I am working with . No 2 students of mine ever share the same lesson plan , unless requested by those individuals. Most of what I teach I learned by what “not to do” I have found that learning from past mistakes, in all fields of music, had made me very aware of what people should not do as well as areas of focus and strength.
