What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am an active member of Career Directors International and I am a Career Thought Leaders Associate. As an active member, I attend annual conferences and monthly trainings. In addition, I recently earned my career development facilitator credential and annual continuing education is a requirement to maintain my certification.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started volunteering with a nonprofit that provided job readiness training to women who were recently released from prison, overcoming drugs and alcohol or who were homeless. I served as a mentor, resume writer, and a workshop presenter. I left one weekend and thought - how can I make this my full-time job.
