I love this place. It's a small gym located in an unassuming shopping center near Shady Grove metro. They specialize in small group training classes and personal training. The instructors are some of the best I've ever had at any gym (Sport & Health, Bally, WSA to name a few I've experienced). Not only do I get a great workout with someone who actually knows my name and any issues I am having, but I am not wasting hours of my day at the gym. I am in and out in less than an hour and I still get the best workout. I highly recommend it!

I have done two of Amy's self guided cleanses. She is a brilliant nutritionist. All of her recipes are tested, effective and flavorful. Amy thoughtfully and comprehensively answered my multiple questions and helped me get on track. I have now made healthy eating a lifestyle because of Amy and I feel better than I have in years.

I have been working with Aric for about 2 months so far and am so happy with the way my experience has been personalized and tailored for my needs. Aric is a warm and dedicated individual who is not scared to push me to ensure I meet my goals. One of the best things about working with Aric is that he introduces you to an overall program which helps to change the way you see exercise, nutrition, and day-to-day life in general. I initially went to Aric to become stronger and fitter but have begun to realize there are multiple ways I can reach these goals, not just through brut force training. I always feel better after going into the gym to get my bi-weekly butt kicking!

I met Shane when my son gave me 10 training sessions earlier this year. We started by establishing some goals to include weight loss, rehabbing a hamstring injury and improving balance, coordination, strength and conditioning overall. I have been rowing for the past 3 years and felt that my lack of strength was a significant limiting factor in my performance. Shane designed a program to address those deficiencies. He gave me a sustainable nutrition plan and the weight has come off while my energy level has increased significantly. When we went on vacation this summer, he gave me workouts to do on the road and checked in with me. Shane is extremely knowledgeable and is able to modify any exercise to allow for injury or other limitations. He works around my schedule and makes sure that I'm staying on track. I look forward to every session and really appreciate his professionalism, patience and sense of humor. He always makes me feel motivated and gets an enormous amount of work out of me each time we meet. He is results-driven but also realistic. In the past 6 months, I've improved in strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and rowing performance. I anticipate even more dramatic improvement in the next 6 months!

Before seeing a nutritionist, most of my knowledge about dieting and exercise were limited to the common facts found on the Internet and word on the street. However, after meeting with Mr. Zaid, I had not only learned about the proper way to diet and exercise, but I also expunged those false facts I had been using that had inhibited my progress. He is extremely thorough in his explanations and calculations and will answer all of your questions with complete honesty. I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking to improve their life.

I'm my dear h for a nutritionist Nicole reached out to me and set up a time to talk! The interview lasted about an hour but she makes sure that she answers all questions and concerns. Nicole was not rushed and totally forcues on me and my needs! Following the interview Nicole sent me over her plans and what she has to offer. This is as far as I gotten with the process of finding a nutritionist and I can tell you I can trust that after my search that Nicole has my best interns in mind and that is most definitely one of the main things I looking for.

Sharon had me complete the health assessment, and then made several recommendations; she gave me a very comprehensive list of changes I needed to make to my diet along with a detailed list of supplements based on my age and condition of my body. I have searched for years to find the answers to good health and never found the complete picture until I found Sharon. I had several injuries that persisted for years, after being on her protocol for 4-6 weeks I noticed significant changes in my health. I am 54 years old and the longer I practice what I have learned from Sharon I see my health improving significantly. I am very active in Karate, Krav Maga, and various other sports, and I have seen my health and stamina improve significantly. I wish I had incorporated these changes 20 years ago! I was very impressed with Sharon's knowledge in every area of Health and Wellness, as well as Healing. Thank you Sharon, you have truly been a blessing to my Health.

In December of 2013 I decided to take on a series of Ultra distance races over the course of summer/fall 2014. I am a CPT and USAT Triathlon Coach, but I knew that I would need some external help with my training plan, both physical and mental. Chris eagerly took on this task and has proved to be an excellent Coach. He understands the delicate balance between work, life, family and training as well as the need for adequate recovery. I would strongly recommend Chris for anyone looking for a well rounded, multi-sport Coach. My only complaint - that he doesn't live closer to me!

I worked with Nova Sports Nutrition on a consultation with the objective of complimenting a high intensity workout program. I found Nikki most attentive and supportive. A key facet of her approach is that it is an investigative one. She initially assigns a program, evaluates and modifies. I definitely recommend.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
