I was an adult without any experience in musical instruments before taking William's class. I think I made a lot of progress by taking his class weekly and practicing. He has a lot of well-designed violin games to help beginners to learn. He made me love playing violin. Many thanks!

I have been a student of Carly’s for the past 18 months. I am a beginner violinist with just 2 yrs under my belt. I am a recent retiree with absolutely no prior musical abilities until I decided to take up the violin. I am extremely happy with Carly’s instruction & teaching techniques. I feel I have advanced quite rapidly with the one-on-one teaching methods & the personal attention Carly gives to each of my lessons. She permits me to select the music I prefer to learn & play. Carly is a very pleasant young woman who prides herself in her preparation, attention, patience, perseverance & punctuality to every lesson I have had with her. She is very praiseworthy when it is deserved and is very reserved in her criticism even when justified. I would not hesitate to recommend Carly to anyone no matter what the level of your ability.

Our son has attended one violin lesson so far. Joanna determined a problem with his finger positioning on the strings immediately and showed him how to fix it right away. The homework she has given my son has kept his interest. He already seems more motivated. We will see how things go as we proceed, but we are pleased so far.

Mr. D was nice to accomodate my request to arrange for a observation of a session that he taught one of his students so that I could examine his teaching method for my decision if I wanted to sign up for my daughter to take violin lessons with him. That helped very much.

I found Victor here on this website for a guitar teacher for my son and when it came down to needing to hire a teacher Victor had followed up with me. So I took advantage of the first free lesson and he's been my sons guitar teacher ever since. Victor is very patient and knowledgeable, the personal attention and care he gives to each individual child is wonderful. You can tell that he has a love for music and this is his passion. I've spoken to other families that he teaches(some for several years) and they all agree. He works well with my son on incorporating styles and songs he is interested in as well as teaching music theory and basics. My son was a beginner 6 months ago and now he is playing full songs confidently. He loves coming to guitar class and learning new techniques, and songs. I plan on continuing until my son can pay for lessons himself. I highly recommend Victor Crisen.

Janet Greene was my son’s private lessons teacher for almost ten years. She worked with him as a 4th grader until after graduation. His love for his viola and music is in large part due to her passion for music and her gentle guidance to the nuances of music and playing. She also encouraged him to practice every day and we have fond memories of him walking around the house every evening playing his instrument. She often found other venues for him play which gave him confidence in his ability to play in front of others. I believe that one reason he is still playing his instrument in college is the love for music she helped him develop. I highly recommend her as an instructor, tutor and person!

I've known Todd for many years now & count him as a friend & mentor. His violin lessons are a pleasure -- they are fun & challenging. He knows his students' abilities & caters to them; on top of that, he's familiar with quite a range of musical genres. I highly recommend him!

Kim is a fabulous violin instructor. As an educator myself, I tend to be more critical of the professionals who teach my children. Kim speaks to them at as mature students, sets her expectations with care and obvious knowledge (for example, she told them that she was excited to find their areas for because that meant that they had good things to focus on and work together, rather than chastising them for failing) and encourages them to take ownership of their musicianship. She also spoke well of their previous teachers, highlighting what they learned well from them, and also highlighting her differences and then discussing why she does things the way she does. I find this to be incredibly professional, as we have had other instructors who did exactly the opposite, and in the process undermined my children's confidence in the work that they had done elsewhere. She re-ordered her schedule to accommodate having both girls the same night, and has been responsive to any and all questions they or I have. I would recommend her without hesitation, and am so thankful to have found her!

As an adult student with no music experience, I think that Christine does a good job breaking down the basics into something that can be easily followed. She is patient and will work to accommodate busy adult schedules. She recommended the Samuel Applebaum String Builder book; which I really like as it teaches the basic hand position along with the associated notes. Rather than learning to play by listening then learning the notes. Again she can tailor her lessons based on children or adults learning abilities.

As a past board member for the Tri-County Music Association, Rochester, MA I have had the opportunity of not only knowing Emily as an individual, but hearing her play as a soloist and strolling musician. Her superb musical talent, her maturity, and her professionalism, make her an outstanding individual to hire for any event or lessons. Having known her for years, she will not disappoint you.

I have taught children to play string instruments for 11 years using the Suzuki method! The Suzuki Method requires parent involvement, daily listening and practice as well as regular lesson attendance. It is an educational method that addresses the needs of the whole child with the primary focus of developing life skills through the vehicle of music study. I help families learn to communicate more effectively and practice productively. Each and everyone of our students achieves superior playing ability and chartacter! Ms. Glenda
