- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Depending on the customers needs are, I usually get as much information as I can to get them a round up figure of what it will cost. For big jobs like drywall repair or interior painting, I prefer to visit the location first to look at the project, take picture and take notes, and go over the agreement detailing everything for the project. smaller jobs like furniture assembling, disposal replacing, or T.V. mounting doesn't require me to visit. I explain the charges and once I meet them, I ask them to sign the agreement before I start on there task(s). Once I'm done I make sure everything is picked up and cleaned up. I then go over the balance due and go over the final bill with the customer. Once payment is given, I give a copy of everything signed and a receipt for payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My education and training come from years of working as either a construction laborer, a handyman, a maintenance technician, a painter, a electrical assistant, plumber helper, and other jobs that required me to work with my hands and mind.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? After I left the military, I found my self doing security. One day I had a friend's neighbor ask me if I wouldn't mind doing some handyman work because they saw a brick fireplace wall I repainted. She asked me to repaint a office room from sky blue to yellow for a child, change the blades for the ceiling fans, fix the closet door, install a baby gate, fix a kitchen drawer, and change some old outlet to new ones. All the tasks was done within a day and I didn't ask them for an amount. I asked for what she thought It was worth. She gave me more then I was gaining in the security job and I realize that I would enjoy home improvement more than security. Now I'm here providing the best service to get customer happy.
