This will be my second week working with Elin Personal Training Redefined. So far I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience. Elin responds very quickly to any question or inquiry that I may have, and the trainer Alek has done a great job during my sessions. I also really appreciate the guidance and advice on nutrition. I would definitely recommend Elin. Thanks!

Gaurav is very knowledgeable about Yoga and excellent in teaching how to practice a healthy lifestyle. I really liked his teaching style, and the fact that he gave personal lessons in the comfort of my own home. During my sessions with him, he taught me how to do the yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas). He taught the exercises according to my comfort level until I could get the technique right. I also had a Nutrional Counseling session with Gaurav. He created a meal plan for me and made suggestions on healthy foods that I could eat on a daily basis, as well as when I ate outside. He is motivating and encouraging. Gaurav is very professional and was always happy to answer my questions in person and over email. I highly recommend his services.

If I could give her 6 stars I would! I am a tennis teaching professional and my job is very physical. During the last few years I had been experiencing injury after injury which was taking all the enjoyment out of my work. Corey is actually one of my students and she encouraged me to try Yoga with her. I was skeptical at first and thought Yoga was for "other people ". I could not have been more wrong! After one session with Corey I could tell this is exactly what I needed. I have been working with Corey for the last 6 months and I feel 20 years younger! Corey is not only a fantastic Yogini. She is incredibly knowledgeable and well versed in many schools of physical fitness. Like Pilates, Cross Fit, TRX?? She knows it all. Incredibly, her expertise does not stop there. Corey is also a walking repository of nutritional information. Going to Corey is a great value, she just knows so much and is so willing to help! In conclusion, the other thing I like and admire about Corey is that she practices what she preaches. She is in great shape and an athlete herself. As an athlete, that's important to me. I highly recommend you give her a try. You will be glad you did!!

I have been with Level 10 for almost 2 years, with a goal to get toned and stronger, and I have been able to get toned and lose 15 pounds and keep it off. As with any of your fitness goals you need to form habits that are going to help you get there. Level 10 helps you form habits around physical activity, nutrition and motivation that are easy to follow and fun to do. If you want a customized workout that matches your goals then you might want to consider Level 10 and it's the best priced of any program I have found.

Danny Dickerson is a highly motivating fitness and nutritional trainer. His personality, demeanor and temperament are uniquely suitable to be a coach for others. He is neither too strict nor too easy, but rather strikes the right balance to motivate his clients. He has a fund of knowledge in both physical training and in nutrition that he shares with his clients. Such extra sharing of his knowledge enhances the client's desire to succeed. Indeed, I have already seen great results. I have more energy, a better sleep pattern, a decrease in inches and more serenity. I am able to do more work around the house as a result of our work together. He is very detailed oriented and each session is both logical, linear and he documents the sessions. He also is quite a raconteur, which helps in his instructions. He is also timely and punctual. I would recommend him for any position with any organization, or for a reference to be added on any additional referral lists. Best regards, Joseph Friedman Attorney at Law

I've been working with Jason for several months and I can definitely see that I am getting more fit and stronger than I ever thought I could be! Jason has a sixth sense when it comes to knowing what a person is capable of...he pushes me to dig deep, show my "game face" and give my all. He is also a great coach on nutrition. I am making better food choices because of him. Thank you, Jason!

Kateri at Whole Health for Life listening to me without judgement, and helped me come up with a nutrition plan I could stick too. Michelle counseled me on nutrition and beginner triathlon preparation. She was encouraging and understood the emotional dynamics behind my eating habits. She didn't just say: "eat this, and not too much" and then not understand when I was struggling to do what I intended (like some previous trainers I have worked with). She was also very encouraging and helpful on triathlon training plans and was fine with the fact that my performance goals were pretty modest compared to most of her other clients. Michelle will be a great coach for any athlete across the spectrum of beginner to elite.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
