Introduction: I have been working with computers as long as I have been writing, and am highly skilled at both resolving troublesome technical issues as I am at writing and editing fiction, non-fiction, and other copy. My first novel, Mesabi Pioneers, was published by Lempi Publishing in 2014, and my second novel, Mona Lisa Missing, is due out this year from Zoozil Media. In between working on my third novel, I work freelance as a technology specialist, hired by companies large and small to install new systems, upgrade old ones, or just troubleshoot existing ones. I take immeasurably satisfaction and pride in helping individuals solve problems. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After submitting a quote, I'll work with a customer either over the phone or via email to understand their particular issue. If it's computer work, I'll diagnose the problem and work with the customer to resolve it, giving them the knowledge, tools, and confidence to ensure they can resolve future issues. For writing work, I work with the customer to determine the scope of the project, how much writing will be involved, or if it's just editing and how extensive the editing will be. Then we determine a deadline for completion of the project and we stay in touch throughout the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 25 years of computer technical experience, both with end user and server and network systems. I have been writing and editing for more than 30 years and have published numerous short stories, essays, and travel articles, as well as two novels.
