MSJ Enterprise was hired to remove mulch and put down new chunky pine bark mulch in its place in my back yard. They also added new mulch in the front yard of my house and removed an old dead shrub. The work was started on June 28, 2014 and I paid them 1/3 of the job at that time ($195.00). The work was completed on July 3rd and they were paid the balance due at that time of $619.87. My first impression of MSJ Enterprise was good, but they seemed somewhat disorganized as they did not have a printed receipt to provide me for the first payment. Instead, I had to ask them to write their business information on the receipt. (Sam Joppy, business owner, was responsible for getting new receipts printed, but failed to do so, as well as failing to upload different job photos on their website). I was asked to sign the form. They did a good job and completed it in a timely manner. When they had finished the job on July 3rd, I wrote them a second check for the balance of $619.87, expecting an immediate receipt for the final payment. They did not have any receipts with them this time, and Joshua PROMISED he would send me a full receipt TWO waysby Email, and by USPS mail. I have received NOTHING! I have left several phone messagesone I regretstating I was not pleased with the reddish/orange color of the mulchbut I can live with it, not a big deal. I have contacted THUMBTACK many times, and they have intervened on my behalf. I received a message through THUMBTACK from MSJ Enterprise stating that a receipt had been sent by their secretary (July 8, 2014)??? ClearlyI've been told a lie. Today is July 12. I reached Sam Joppy by phone and indicated that I have not received a receipt to date. He then admitted his secretary had been on vacation all last week, which of course means that she did not process or send me a receipt. They were caught in a lie. Mr. Joppy said he would immediately make a call to find out the status, but has not returned my call. I waited a half hour, and then I had to leave a message. Enough!!! MSJ Enterprise is a local business and I should have received the receipt by now! MSJ Enterprise does good work, but doesn't follow-through, once paid. This is not a professional way of doing business, in my opinion. Finally, I entered into a business relationship with MSJ Enterprise in good faith, and paid them in good faith. They performed the job well and in a timely manner, but they failed me at the end. MSJ Enterprise was paid a total of $814.00 and they couldn't even provide me with a final Receipt! I had to call my bank to request copies of the two checks for my recordsand paid a fee. I regret I CANNOT Recommend MSJ Enterprise at this time; and would not use their services again.
