After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!

“It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I don’t think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. William is both an incredible performer and teacher. I studied under him for a few semesters while taking lessons at the Eastman School of Music and I found his approach to technique and musicality to be very effective. He also pushes the importance of ear training and how it can help with intonation issues. Overall, William's a great guy to work with and he will push you to be better.

Our son has attended one violin lesson so far. Joanna determined a problem with his finger positioning on the strings immediately and showed him how to fix it right away. The homework she has given my son has kept his interest. He already seems more motivated. We will see how things go as we proceed, but we are pleased so far.

Janet was our son's violin teacher for 8 years. She was fantastic! She really catered to his interests. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. She kept him interested and challenged. She was very supportive of his concerts and Solo Ensemble - attending if she was available. He continues to play in college. She held intimate recitals in her home which were a great experience for the students. Thanks, Janet!

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Toni for several months. I love that Toni comes to my house to teach, so that I can stay home and work on other projects during her lessons. Toni is extremely reliable, prompt, and responsive. She is very kind and patient, my daughter loves having her come and looks forward to her lessons. She always leaves a clear practice plan, so that my daughter can practice on her own and knows exactly what to do. I highly recommend piano lessons with 10 Fingers Music!

    About

Music has always been my life’s passion! I am a violinist, pianist, and vocalist. I started playing violin when I was 3. My father and uncle were orchestral conductors, so music was the family business. I went to school as a music education major on a full music scholarship, and I also have a masters and doctorate degree in education. I come from Texas, where I taught private lessons for 14 years and had award-winning, public school choral and orchestral programs for 10 years. Recordings of my group are available upon request! As a soloist I have performed internationally and have worked with world-renowned conductors. The highlight of my career was performing two solos for the Pope in front of a crowd of 250,000 people! My lessons are structured to address your needs as a student. I create an individualized learning plan/course for each student. I strive to make every lesson fun and meaningful. I believe students who love music will advance twice as fast. My joy comes from watching others grow, learn and love music as much as I do!

    About

My name is Melissa L., and I am currently employed by the Cecil County Public Schools as a strings teacher. While traveling from four different schools, I am also offering private lessons for strings and piano. I have acquired a degree in music education with a concentration in violin from the University of Delaware. I have been playing the violin for 17 years and also have been giving private violin lessons for the last nine years. Although my main concentration is focused on the violin, I provide private lessons for viola, cello, string bass, and piano. As an educator, I strive to provide students with the knowledge to become highly skilled and competent musicians. Whether music becomes a hobby or profession, I want my students to appreciate and engage in their learning as aspiring musicians. Music has made such a positive impact on my life, and I hope to inspire my students to love the music that they play. The many years that I have played the violin, along with my nine years of private teaching, has given me knowledge of effective techniques to incorporate in my teaching. I hope to be a positive and encouraging role model while engaging my students to their fullest potential as musicians!

    About

My students excel in performance and in achieving their goals. By learning to play well, and developing a performance mindset, they enjoy playing with others about their age usually, and competitively for groups they would like to join. There is fun just for the sake of music making itself.
