After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!
My 6 year old son took the piano lessons with Lisa for over a year and I am amazed at his tremendous improvement in such a short time span. She is very patient and encouraging and my son really enjoys her class. Great experience with Lisa all the way around. Highly recommended!
William is both an incredible performer and teacher. I studied under him for a few semesters while taking lessons at the Eastman School of Music and I found his approach to technique and musicality to be very effective. He also pushes the importance of ear training and how it can help with intonation issues. Overall, William's a great guy to work with and he will push you to be better.
Carly is a great match for my daughter. Her teaching style and enthusiasm are exactly what we desired in a violin instructor! I know my girl will progress under Carly’s tutelage! 🎻
My son has been taking violin lessons for over 5 years and 4 of those years with Anna. Since then she has been molding him into a talented musician. While under her instruction he has auditioned and been accepted into the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra for the last 3 years. She sincerely cares about her students and their musical endeavors. We drive 45 miles from the eastern shore because there isn't another teacher that my son or I would rather him be with. I took violin lessons myself from Anna for about 3 years. I can say as an adult student, she made me feel very comfortable and taught me a lot.
Yalira was my daughters first ever violin teacher. Considering my daughter hadn’t touched a violin before, Yalira made it an enjoyable experience for her to learn the violin. Yalira has been doing a wonderful job on motivating my daughter who used to dread of having her violin lessons in the beginning. In addition to being patient and encouraging, Yalira’s musical expertise is also incredible.
I have completed four lessons with Crystal at M Institute for the Arts. I found the online booking system works well, and my lessons begin promptly. The classes are hosted in a nice location in Georgetown, and I have found Crystal to be a very encouraging and patient teacher. Looking forward to continuing!
My son and three grandchildren all study with Georgia,. It is a rare teach who can work easily and productively with both school children and adults. My 12 yo twin grandsons think lessons with Miss Georgia are "fun and interesting!" They also made Junior High All-County Orchestra in 6th grade (their 3rd year of lessons) so I would say as a flutist and flute teacher that they are progressing well as is their sister (age 10). My son went back to playing and taking lessons after he observed the children's lessons.
Greta customizes violin lessons to my son's strengths and weaknesses. While Greta challenges him to do his best, he has told me that he feels very comfortable playing for her and being instructed by her. He very much looks forward to his lessons and they've inspired him to practice more regularly.
Stein Music Lessons has definitely helped me with my technique and has helped me become a better player and better individual. I have had other instructors before Mr. Angerstein, and I can say he is the best teacher I have ever had. I was his student for many years. He is super patient, understanding and really takes the time to help with any struggles you may have. Definitely goes above and beyond. Seeing him leave Texas is unfortunate. If I could, I would continue working with him. Not many instructors really care about their students like Mr Angerstein.
I've known Todd for many years now & count him as a friend & mentor. His violin lessons are a pleasure -- they are fun & challenging. He knows his students' abilities & caters to them; on top of that, he's familiar with quite a range of musical genres. I highly recommend him!
As an adult student with no music experience, I think that Christine does a good job breaking down the basics into something that can be easily followed. She is patient and will work to accommodate busy adult schedules. She recommended the Samuel Applebaum String Builder book; which I really like as it teaches the basic hand position along with the associated notes. Rather than learning to play by listening then learning the notes. Again she can tailor her lessons based on children or adults learning abilities.
Ms. Carol Brobst offers lessons for all ages in violin and viola at all levels as well as beginning harp. She is also available to give demonstrations of violin making and to coach string chamber music. "My mission is to offer a mentoring environment for all motivated students to make them realize their musical dreams, from the simple joy of making a pleasing sound to attaining a music career."
Gosh, you simply can't do better. Where else are you going to find a classically trained bluegrass expert with a Masters degree, giving affordable private lessons? Chris is just amazing.
Ms. Linnea Marchie is an excellent instructor for my daughter. She is enthusiastic about teaching violin and brings positive energy to each lesson so that my daughter looks forward her session and actually practices almost everyday ( It is amazing). We like Linnea very much.
Our son (now 8) has been taking lessons with the studio for about 2 years now. The teachers are great, share their love of music, make the lessons fun and serious all at the same time.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Toni for several months. I love that Toni comes to my house to teach, so that I can stay home and work on other projects during her lessons. Toni is extremely reliable, prompt, and responsive. She is very kind and patient, my daughter loves having her come and looks forward to her lessons. She always leaves a clear practice plan, so that my daughter can practice on her own and knows exactly what to do. I highly recommend piano lessons with 10 Fingers Music!
My name is Melissa L., and I am currently employed by the Cecil County Public Schools as a strings teacher. While traveling from four different schools, I am also offering private lessons for strings and piano. I have acquired a degree in music education with a concentration in violin from the University of Delaware. I have been playing the violin for 17 years and also have been giving private violin lessons for the last nine years. Although my main concentration is focused on the violin, I provide private lessons for viola, cello, string bass, and piano. As an educator, I strive to provide students with the knowledge to become highly skilled and competent musicians. Whether music becomes a hobby or profession, I want my students to appreciate and engage in their learning as aspiring musicians. Music has made such a positive impact on my life, and I hope to inspire my students to love the music that they play. The many years that I have played the violin, along with my nine years of private teaching, has given me knowledge of effective techniques to incorporate in my teaching. I hope to be a positive and encouraging role model while engaging my students to their fullest potential as musicians!

As a Maryland State certified educator, I have over eight years of experience with private music instruction, music ensembles and lesson planning. Clarinet and piano are my main instruments; however, I am highly qualified and able to teach voice, violin, viola, cello, saxophone and music theory lessons.
I have taught children to play string instruments for 11 years using the Suzuki method! The Suzuki Method requires parent involvement, daily listening and practice as well as regular lesson attendance. It is an educational method that addresses the needs of the whole child with the primary focus of developing life skills through the vehicle of music study. I help families learn to communicate more effectively and practice productively. Each and everyone of our students achieves superior playing ability and chartacter! Ms. Glenda
