- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Relocation Solutions, Inc's typical process in working with a new customer is first to understand their work order requirement or statement of work. This is accomplished by performing a site survey to assess the project, calculate the number of hours for supervision, labor, transportation, equipment and materials needed to determine a fair and reasonable quote or pricing proposal. Once the proposal has been accepted the project is scheduled at a mutual agreeable date and time. We then assign the supervisor/project manager and relocation crew to accomplish the goals set forth. Relocation Solutions, Inc then focus on executing our move plan in order to reach our customers objectives exceeding their expectations in completing the work requirement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have over 25 years of experience/education in the commercial and residential moving and furniture installation industry. 've held government moving services contracts and security clearances with the following government agencies Department of Education, Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, Department of Interior, United States Naval Academy, and the U.S. Department of the Interior. We've also held commercial moving and furniture installation contracts with Morgan, Lewis and Brockius Law Firm, Kennedy Center, AARP, Dynamic Corp, and Pathways Schools which is just a partial list of our government and commercial clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?As a college student while attending the University of Maryland in 1987, I worked as a Rental Truck Representative for Ryder Truck Rental. I worked in their telemarketing center providing customers with truck rental estimates for local and long distance moving truck rentals. Since Ryder Truck Rental did not offer labor support services this opportunity lead me to providing clients with labor support alternatives for upcoming moving projects. I formed my first moving company in 1992 called Allstate Professional Mover, Inc which I sold in February 2010. Allstate Professional Movers, Inc (APMI) provided moving, warehousing, and systems furniture installation services to federal, state, local government agencies and commercial clients for over 25 years. I decided to get back into the moving industry and formed another moving company called Relocation Solutions, Inc presently.
