FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm a writer myself, and I went to an editor a lot. He helped me a lot, and I got better at writing and actually started to think of a lot more stories. My reason for becoming an editor and proofreader is one part selfishness and one part gratefulness. I want to give back all the skills I've learned from my editor to writers.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Sentence revision. So many times clients are trying to explain a concept through their writing, but it's not coming across in the words they are using or the sentences they are writing. I work with writers to make sure whatever they want to say is clear.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently worked with a client writing a piece of his memoir. He was a bit younger, but the experiences he'd had were amazing. They just weren't coming across as well as they could have in his writing. I worked with him to take out a lot of the cliches, the "this is going to be a movie some day" scenes, and actually get his experiences on the paper in a form that would be enjoyable to read.
