Pro Landscapes solved a long-standing issue for my husband and me (both in our mid-70’s) A ditch evidently created by water seepage exactly on the path by our gate where we roll our trash cans from every Sunday night for Monday trash collections. The ditch was not filled with water, but made walking hazardous and very difficult to maneuver the trash cans. The company met with our daughter on the site (at our request) to explain needs and issues. Our salesman, David Nutter, drew up a proposal and contract, with each item that needed to be done detailed, including materials, cost and time involved. When we agreed to a plan and signed the papers, we got on their schedule. Pro Landscapes made sure we had the gas company come out and mark where the lines ran, in advance of the work—very simply through an online link they provided. We provided the necessary deposit before the work was to begin. A team of about six workers came out by 10 am the day in question and completed the job by that afternoon. The head worker checked with me about the arc of the path of flagstone stepping stones to our front walkway, just to be sure we were all on the same page. We were! We are so satisfied with the job! I took 2 large cans and 2 smaller cans to our front last Sunday afternoon, and I had no trouble at all! I am thrilled with the end result--not only as far as practicality, but also in terms of the beauty of the work they did, with no mess left behind at all. We received directions as far as how to treat the new walkway and when we could safely begin using it. So they were very thorough. We would recommend them highly!!!!

Appreciated the quality of their professional teamwork and flexibility for making sure I was happy about the decisions/out-comes of an extended patio with rectangle shaped flagstone in bluer-gray hues vs. the browns, and making sure that the rainwater flow movement flowed away from the house. I discussed the placement design and shape of a fragmented flagstone path from the patio to my created picnic area design on a large corner tree'd area of my property. The care and attention to the laid out design of the patio, the flagstone path, and the defining of the picnic area with boulder rocks was what I had hoped for. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1. They carry a MHIC license required to do this type of work 2. Their license is in good standing with the license holder, and not expired. Cross reference their license with the DLLR to make sure they’re not just saying they have one. Plenty of people do that. My license # is 5117207 3. They are a fully insured company (most importantly general liability and workers comp. I also carry an umbrella policy for an additional 2 million. Copies of my insurance declarations are included below). 3. Ratings and reviews are in my opinion just as important as licenses. I carry a perfect 5 star rating on Thumbtack.com, Porch.com, and on google reviews if you google “Pro Lawn Care, LLC Maryland” I’m 2 or 3 from the top. 4. Price is one of the last things you should look at. The best price is what so many people only pay attention to these days, but that “best price” will usually come with an inexperienced or non licensed/non insured contractor. A good price is only as good as the things above to back it. Please keep in mind I went to college specifically for this type of work, which very few people in the state do. I take great pride in my work to make sure every project looks perfect for the customer. Thanks for your consideration,
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually arrange a meeting time convenient with the customer, meet with them to suggest many different options, let them choose what they like best and try to work out a plan that fits their specific needs and budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to college for Horticulture/Landscape Design & Construction. I currently hold MHIC license # 5117207. I am a knowledgeable Horticulturist, and a professional Landscape Designer. I regularly attend work shops for continuing education in my field, and have a thirst for any new knowledge having to do with landscaping. I know and utilize all the latest techniques taught in this field.
