FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to work by the hour to avoid risk and unforeseen circumstances once you get into a job. It’s hard to know what’s “underneath” a job. I charge between $30-$35 per hour depending on the job. I’m more than willing to give estimates as well based on those hourly rates. I do charge a minimum of a half day per job and I do charge my hourly rate for drives more than 45 mins one way for any time over that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked for 7 years now directly under a general contractor and home builder of nearly 40 years. We’ve done all sorts of jobs from foundation to roof and everything you can imagine in between.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Right out of high school I was mentored by a lifelong carpenter. I’ve been learning from him everyday for 7 years now.
