FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Like many writers, what felt natural to me soon had people talking. For example, starting from when I was in high school, I began to receive notice for my essays and creative writing. What seemed very difficult for many people seemed to be second nature to me. Later, when I taught English as a second language during my Peace Corps days in Ethiopia, I used to tell my students to be "expressive" when writing i.e. don't just say the house is nice but describe the atmosphere that makes it nice and choose more descriptive words. My students would often tease me afterward about always mentioning being expressive but I can safely say, the term stuck and they will continue to apply that principle throughout their lives.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am finishing up a World Bank contract at the moment and most of my work revolves around creating features highlighting disaster risk management, Bank supported projects. I also create many internal project appraisal documents as well as analyses and concept notes.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Most importantly, I can offer the entire communications package if needed. This means I can create a communications strategy (and implement it) along with strong writing tasks and photography. I am a sort of "all in one" communications person (my profile picture was taken by me using a camera remote for example).
