Rob did a great job with my somewhat ill-defined project replacing an old set of attic stairs. He was very responsive and flexible with scheduling, showed up promptly, and workEd well with me on this two person job. He also took the lead when appropriate, provided some minor spare parts and made sure the new attic stairs were safely installed. All-in-all, a great job.
The installation of a ceiling fan, supporting bracket and wiring through the attic went smoothly. Flavio and a colleague worked expeditiously and professionally. Very impressed. Will use Flavio's services again in the future.
We had a new roof installed recently and needed an attic fan hooked up. Angel, Jr and Milton responded promptly and worked efficiently. When the fan didn't turn on the next day, we contacted Angel and he and Jr came back to our house @ 7:30 on a Sat morning. The minor adjustment took 10 min. Excellent Customer Service as they are located about an hour from our house and it wasn't a work day for them. Will definitely be calling them again and would highly recommend their service.
James at Southern Home Improvements was fantastic: professional, efficient, friendly, and cost-effective. He fixed all of our pressing plumbing issues at our house which was built around 1940, including: installing a water filtration system for the kitchen sink in a very tight space; clearing the main bathroom shower/tub drain by running a snake; fixing a leak in the main bathroom sink by replacing a part rather than replacing the whole faucet; fixing another bathroom's faucet pop-up drain assembly; and diagnosing a leak in the other shower/tub thanks to faulty tile construction. He also helped us figure out a tricky problem we were having with a DIY ceiling fan installation. In sum, James was awesome and helped us out a ton, and not only do we highly recommend him, we'll be calling him back for any plumbing issues we have in the future. Thanks James!
Dennis came to my house to fix a leak under my bathroom sink and to investigate some water pooling behind the toilet. Both jobs were performed satisfactorily and I was happy with the work. Would definitely hire Dennis again.
Daniel installed 2 ceiling fans and a new thermostat in our house and was very professional also responsive to my messages beforehand and on time! The price felt right too. We definitely will hire him again in the future!
Yonny's work was fabulous! He was professional and dependable. His price was very reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend Yonny to anyone. It is very difficult to fine a dependable and fair handyman and Yonny is a rare find. I'm going to recommend him to all my friends and going to hire him to do some more projects for me. He installed curling fans, an attic fan, replaced some bathroom fixtures. One of the parts for the bathroom I ordered from Home Depot was a faulty part and that took over an Hour to install. Yonny was so fair that he didn't charge me to come back another day to replace the part with a new part after I reordered. Thanks Yony for all your great work!
I had an attic fan installed by New City Electric. Both Joshua and Bryan were the consummated professionals both on the phone setting up my service as well as when the installation was done. They are both courteous and polite. And though I had hour them to do one thing, Bryan brought am issue to our attentionthat could have been a major problem in the future and he repaired it. I highly recommend this company. And I'm glad to know that true customer service still exists.
I highly recommend Dean Self at SRE Home Services for any kind of home repair you may need. He responds quickly to your request and provides clear, up-front pricing in writing. His quality work is guaranteed. He arrived on the dot at the arranged time, completed the repairs efficiently, and cleaned the work area. Dean repaired a leaking dishwasher and a dripping faucet for us, but he is experienced in all types of home repairs, and I would not hesitate to call him for large or small jobs.
The job included installing nearly 10 outside flood lights and extensive electrical work within my house (home automation) and installing a ceiling fan on a two story ceiling. The job was done expediently and efficiently. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail.
We had an attic fan installed... very punctual and they were very friendly... great job.. we will definitely be using him for more things around the house
CRELECTRIC has been the perfect fit for my needs on electrical in my 1910 victorian home that needed alot of work in this area. Bob the owner and Oscar his helper are very good at what they do. CR delivered the completed work at a fair rate and no complaints. This is what I have had done already 1. Installation of new outlet boxes or moved them to get appliances up and running after reno. 2. Upgraded and moved outlets 3. Pulled un-needed wiring that I wanted removed. 4. Removed and replaced ceiling light fans, chandelier and bathroom wall lighting I updated. These guys are efficient and very good at what they do. Ive been so happy with their work that Ive already scheduled them to do my electric upgrade from 100 to 200 and new box installation as well as adding dedicated "true ground" three prong outlets that requires running 3rd wire directly to box for my home office. CR Electric is now my "go to" for electrical. I would not think of hiring anyone else. So glad thumbtack has helped me find these guys. A+++
Steve was awesome. Timely, courteous, efficient, excellent. Fit me into his schedule very quickly and did amazing work. We had him put together a trampoline and he did it very quickly even without instructions as the manufacturer left those out of the packaging. We would still be out there trying to figure it out ourselves had we not had Steve. He let us know he does all kinds of handy work and home repairs. We will definitely be calling Steve again. Highly recommend him!
William and his crew did our entire house paint, they did the walls, ceilings, trim.. and they did a FANTASTIC JOB!!! The most honest and caring people I've met in a long time. They look after the customer and are priced very fairly. My husband and I are VERY pleased with their work. I will hire this company in the future and would refer them to anyone who is looking for quality service and great value. They are very flexible and will work with you to help you to best they can. They also take their time and they made sure that we were happy with the job. And the little things we pointed out, they resolved for us on the spot. Thank you Will & crew!!
I learned of and hired Chris from another Home Service Advisor but felt that other need to know about this quality contractor, so with that up front, here's my review. Project: Upgrade an Electrical Panel or Wiring This review is a long time in coming. I had been searching for an affordable electrician to replace a breaker panel that was on its last legs. I called an electrician from a highly rated company to diagnose and perform some emergency repairs. Seems our panel was on borrowed time. Several breakers were burned, cracked and yet another was buzzing in an unpleasant manner. The offending breakers were replaced and the verdict was that the main bus bars were just not providing good electrical contact. I needed a replacement panel. I got an estimate from another person in that company. A lot of discussion took place between the estimator and his company. Photos of the location and service were taken and e-mailed. I was floored by the magnitude of the estimate and the associated re-work that needed to be done to replace the panel and bring it up to code. Everything from an outside service meter mounted above the deck to the water pipes that passed the panel were all offending and needed to be relocated. We were assured that no inspector would sign off on a replacement panel without these accompanying modifications to the house. We followed with a few more word of mouth recommendations and finally reached an impasse when we found someone who would do it on the cheap if we purchased all the supplies. He was honest enough to admit that he was not a licensed electrician. I had used HomeAdvisor in the past and felt it was time to stop Yelping and get someone in who had been screened - qualified, licensed, insured, etc. HomeAdvisor gave us 3 leads. Chris Livingstone (we later connected that sense of humor with the Dead Rock Contracting name) and his helper, Mike quickly responded to our job description request. From the start, Chris listened to our description of the failure mode, what work had been done already, and our concerns about wanting to have this job done with the appropriate permits and final inspection. He was knowledgeable and had a background that enabled him to make informed decisions on what was required and what was fine if the job was a swap out panel replacement. He thoroughly checked our electric service meter, panel, and water lines. He gave us an estimate with our choice of two top name brand panels. When he said the whole house surge suppressor was included, not an option, I was completely surprised. That suppressor was a $350 option on our first quote. We asked for the panel brand, suppressor and building permit and inspection to be included on the contract. He seemed a tad amused and put it in writing. We were really impressed. So, we started with our wish list. We wanted to replace our dead front post lamp. No problem, do you want to save some labor cost and dig the 18" trench ourselves (yes, and he would run the wires inside of conduit). We have a dead roof mounted ventilator. Can you replace that too? "Sure, do you want to pick out your own fan or should I?" Wow, flat rate install prices as options. We loved it. A week later he arrived as scheduled and got to work. "No power for a couple hours, OK?" And with his head mounted flashlight he got busy in our basement. We felt really comfortable with Chris and Mike working together. Panel complete in less than one day, return visit to finish with the attic fan and deal with an unforeseen beam that prevented fishing a replacement circuit through our basement ceiling for the post lamp and he was done. Bottom line, the work was done neatly, quickly and on budget. We felt that we were in good hands. As a bonus, the County Inspector arrived and put his inspection certificate on the panel. Chris's work passed inspection on the first visit! Good guy, always returns texts, super polite and will definitely keep his card handy should we need his services again. Thanks so much Chris and Mike! David and Erica - Hamilton, VA
replaced attic fan job was done in a timely manner
Very reasonable! JD was very polite and friendly. This was not an easy job! A old and HUGE freezer needed to be cut up, carried up basement steps and hauled away. Swept the debris, and even took the pallets. He was here less than an hour. I have dogs and he was just fine with them. I will contact him again!
Gerson did a nice job installing our storm door. There was some awkward back and forth on the price after he started, but overall it was a fine experience. His work quality speaks for itself and so far everything looks good. I would consider hiring him again.
Jody could have replaced my garbage disposal but was able to easily repair it saving me money. I will definitely use him again. Thank you for your honesty.
